If you guys want the best "game where they kill you if you lose" type of story, read The Long Walk by Stephen King - back when he use to write under the alias Richard Banach. It's in the same book as The Running Man, another similar type of story, though not as good as The Long Walk IMO.

I have by now started to watch it and the dubbed version is horrible. This can be done a lot better. Watching it in Korean with subtitles instead.

I enjoyed it but I watched one, maybe two, shows at a time. And I caught myself fiddling around with other things while it was on in the background as well.

Binge worthy shows... I'm glued until it's done and I do nothing but stare at the screen. For Netflix I would say: Ozark, Stranger Things, Narcos, Queens Gambit, Cobra Kai (perhaps nostalgia)

Admittedly there are TONS of Netflix shows that I have not seen.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think Netflix shows are generally crap: mainstream, trite, made for mass consumption. Nothing is ever subtle or deep. They're all the same, too.

Personally I hate seeing all the guns and killings. I don't care what story you put around these elements in an attempt to make people care, create interesting characters (just to see them die), it's all gore porn to me so no thanks.

It's fucking stupid. And extremely gory. It has some nice moments, especially during the games, which are very creative and can get extremely tense. But the show is the typical Netflix mass-consumption garbage. Last 2 episodes aren't even worth watching they're so stupid.

South Korean cinema is top notch, regardless, but Squid Game seems "dumbed down" for an American audience. Which is fine, it seems to have hit that mark perfectly.

It's decent enough, but wanders into "Kingsman" territory with extended gore-porn scenes set to music too much for my tastes.

This is the same as any TV channel, yes? I love Netflix for the international offerings. South Korean dramas and horror are extremely solid. Scandinavian crime dramas are excellent. British comedy is top notch. The animated shows are very decent, too. I didn't watch MOST shows on tv, why would I expect to watch most of Netflix's catalogue?

I don't like cruelty in movies and TV shows, but I watched this one and kinda liked it, mostly drama parts, despite the fact that I'm not a big fan of drama either...
