Except that Microsoft software wasn't involved in that incident in any way, according to the report.

If it was WindowsCE have no doubts. It was Microsofts fault.
WindowsCE tried to reboot the car however the Power stirring was a non compliant external piece of hardware along with just about everything else in the car. It is a sign that Microsoft wants BMW to start building Plug and play automobiles with no Java cup holder's.
