does anyone know some ways to protect the email database of a 4free email site so hackers can not easily get access to the emails?

hey shouldn't there be another level or protection for that database itself cause servers get hacked all the time

firewall the database. It does not need to be opened tpo all the internet. Out a firewall and block all the connections that come to the database and are done throught the internet interface. Local interfaces should be allowed in order to make it all work nice, but not extyernal internet connections.
