    What's a nice present / thing to do for an old person you don't know - less than $10

    There is an old couple that live opposite from us. I would like to do something for them / buy them something inexpensive which will show thought.
    Any ideas?

    The couple are old, the man had a fall a year or so ago.

    The woman is mobile.

    Obviously need to consider Covid.

    I'm not going to cur there grass or fix a leaky roof or some shit.

              Thanks but I can't cook and as I mentioned I don't really want to offer help. I did think flowers first but I also thought it was a bit meh.

                  A few things from a farmer's market or a good grocery store? Farm fresh eggs or that sort of thing perhaps.

                              Dude most old people just like company. Grab some coffees and donuts and go hang out for an hour and talk.

                              And if you want to buy them something for 10$ you could buy a couple scratch tickets / scratch off. Most old people like to gamble.

                                          For $10 or so I would buy them a small asortment of tea bags and perhaps a nice jar of locally produced honey. A nice cup of tea is easy to do and appreciated by most! A pack of different tea bags also last longer than for example a box of chocolate, so your gift will be appreciated many times.

                                                      What i would do would be to simply give them the gift of you NOT breaking into their house, and stealing all their stuff. Imagine the stress, unpleasantness and the feeling of being violated that you would save them?

                                                      Surely that would be a great gift?

                                                      Just break into and rob the two houses either side of them, and they will feel really lucky that it wasn't them

                                                                                      When I have an abundance of eggs we drop them off at the senior center and they are TICKLED to have fresh eggs.

                                                                                              Well....being the daughter of a man with dementia...it won't hurt him if you simply say...you know I didn't see her today yet but boy she sure is a pretty gal. I bet you'd see him smile bigger. (OHHHH I GET YOUR JOKE NOW hahaha!!!) Hand him a few Hershey kisses on his way out. =) Trust me.

                                                                                              I have learned to just go with it most of the time. I'm still stubborn though, sometimes I do feel the need to argue, which is never fruitful. I'll learn to wholly give in soon.
