No, i can't be sure because I don't live in states, but I have an idea of the cost of living in major cities. I'm sure at this salary range and with the unemployment you already mentioned they would be people that will apply for it, but this doesn't mean it's a decent salary.

There are so many technical people who lost their jobs and are working at starbucks or driving taxi's now they'd jump at this.

Whoever takes this job will be able to do business on a much larger scale because of who is backing you.

I personally think it's a great opportunity. Look at the people Lens hired who got the experience and then went on to start their own programs.

I'd apply for that job myself to get the paysite experience but I already make more than that doing less.

Well, if there are bonus incentives and recurring commissions that go along with this job, and if $40k is only a starting base-salary, then it's a good opportunity for someone with talent that wants to break into the business or add to their existing income. I personally know a few admins of programs who are earning a nice income when their bonuses are factored in. Very nice income actually.

It's the "$40k/year for 10-12 hr days 6 days a week" that is throwing off most people here. For the skill-levels asked for, that is pretty low. For a good candidate there would likely be added incentives/rewards, I'm sure.


I'll have to check around with the admins I know and find out what sort of extra incentives/rewards/bonuses they are being paid. You know, for research purposes :Graucho

the ones complaining about the salary either are doing well on there own or they are not what EC is looking for.

i will guarantee you most of them make about what Pornkings is offering. Web companies are frugal man, unless you have some great skills at whatever it is u do, you aren't going to make a big salary working for somebody else in a job that is basically unskilled, posting on boards, basic HTML, writing emails etc - M.I.T or Harvard isn't exactly a pre-requisite for that job.

I was raised to work hard nothing comes easy. and I still work 14 hours a day. go figure

when i first got into it I had to learn it all on my own there was no webmaster resources etc or people to help.

depends on the person. i don't mind working 14 hours a day, but i better have a nice pot at the end of the rainbow. as in the potential for a multimillion dollar bonus at the end of the year :thumbsup

i just thought it was funny, i'm sure you will find who you want for that pay. it should be good experience for them. i would even take it myself if it was local and less hours.
