iBill sales drop off???

Has anyone else noticed a sales drop since they required CVV2 for all transactions?

Our sales seem to be down quite significantly.

And I am not writing this so that people can reply with "Why the fuck are you still with ibill" etc etc... I know there are big players here that use ibill.

Thanks!

I've been waiting for someone else to mention this, I posted on it yesterday and got no legible replies.

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...hreadid=132300

I'm down about 50% on my daily signup average since Wednesday. It's a very noticeable decrease as this has been one of my best periods ever.

Ibill isnt offering the same features epoch has, for example.. epoch allows you to give option to your members to join more than 1 site, in other words epoch listens to webmasters and tries to maximize the revenue for everyone, while on the ther side, ibill is just trying to stay away from lawsuits and implementing every single law that there is without using clever techniques to make sure it has less impact on the business.

They have been dissapointing me lately, we're considering to switch to epoch oneday.

Be smart and switch to CCBill instead of Epoch, you won't end up regreting it later.

Well I'm going to email my rep and will probably get a canned response.

Who knows, some important client with a big account might call them and find out what is going on.

CVV2, Verified by Visa, etc allow a better and more accurate approach in confirming the cardholder and thus, make it increasingly difficult to 'chargeback' those transactions.

BUT I agree with you that any sales drop since Billing required CVV2.

Do you know any processing that not using verification of CVV2 ?

Mark

No noticeable changes in signups. BTW...CVV2 isn't used on rebills so it will have not affect on rebills.

It´s just because like 60% of banks are NOT CVV2 compliant!
Even though they might say so. Visa should do something about that, like threaten to cancel their capability to issue Visa cards!

That's exactly it. I have 2 debit cards linked to one account. The first (and one issued to EVERY account holder at this bank) is an electron card with no CVV2 on it. I can use it online with no problem (although oddly not in the UK) but obviously not if they require CVV2. The other is a Delta card which has a CVV2. Both cards are VISA and issued by the same bank. There's a shit load of people use this bank who will only have the non-CVV2 card.

No that's impossible. Didn't you see everyone say it would have no effect on signups. You are just wrong.

That´s not all!
Even cards that DO have a CVV2 number don´t always work, because of that the bank system isn´t up to date with how it works!

Just look at all those people that have had problems with signing up for epassport! They require a CVV2, and the people that have tried to signup, with problems, say they put the CVV2 number, but still got denied. It´s just because epassport has a very strict system reguarding CVV2, and most banks just don´t meet the requierments made by Visa

The more information you ask of a potential customer the greater the likelihood he'll make a mistake, the system won't take, or he'll see it as too intrusive.

Period end of story. Sales will always be affected from the process of transacting the sale itself.

I completely agree, although in my case I find it doubtful that this would amount to 50% or so of transactions. So who can say what else may be happening here.

As a general rule whenever I see sales go up on my secondary (which has always required CVV2) it indicates a problem at Ibill.

We use IBill as a backup processor and I see dramatically decreasing of new signups here. However rebills are going well.
So we have 5 rebills for 1 new signup in this month... I think we need to change our backup solution

Believe me if they want to charge back they will. It will in no way become more difficult for a surfer to do it. Really this is all about Visa compliance, adding the three extra digits from the back of the card will not beat fraud artists. How it proves that the card is in hand is beyond me.

Verotel still has no CVV2 field. I think a few processors have the fields on their join pages but they are not actually being used.

SU's seem to be a bit better with Ibill today, hopefully they are just getting the bugs out of the system.

If you need a back up processor, try Verotel, they are great and offer multiple billing options. See my signature.

Comparing an average of Thursday - Sunday of this week since the changes with the same 4 day period from the past 5 weeks I am down about 24% on sign ups.

Is this what others are seeing?

Ibill what is going on?

IBill does cross sells. We've been cross-selling with iBill since december.

Our new sales appear to be slightly up since the cvv2 checking supposedly went into effect. I haven't checked the rebill figures yet.
