If I'm reading this right, it looks like it's going to be on, at various times, over the next few days.

Ya, it's pretty cool, except for having to watch Avril Lavigne sing 'Fuel'. That's a song that a man needs to sing.

Highlight of the show so far. The Korn guitars sounded awesome during the songs intro.

I almost barfed listening to Avril, and I usually can stomach her music.

I used to love to cover Metallica stuff in a couple of the bands I was in...of course, at that time, they only had 3 albums out (unless you count "No Life Til Leather" which doesn't really count) I remember the first time I tried to sing "Hit The Lights" in front of people and hit that high notes just right and awas so amazed I forgot a few lyrics in the second verse.....

I just turned it over to catch Snoop Dogg singing "Sad But True" um, yikes...Korn definitely did nail "One" though...too bad it was the "short" version....

um, the Metallica early years segment..where the fuck was any mentioning of Cliff Burton? Cliff Burton made me want to pick up a four string guitar and hammer out some basslines....I remember practicing over and over and over until I could play "Anesthesia" note for note...tore off a fingernail and bloodied the shit out of my fingers trying to do it...

So was the new song more back to their old roots like everyone has been hoping, or was it more of the watered down stuff they seem to be producing the last few albums?

We won't get the show up here until the 9th on MTV Canada.

I don't think so.

I grew up with them. I remember partying at the Metallica house in El Cerrito. I took guitar lessons from Joe Satriani at Second Hand Guitars at the same time as Kirk Hammett. I remember seeing them at the Keystone Berkeley when Dave Mustaine was still in the band opening up for Exodus and Laaz Rockit.

Admit it, Metallica sold out. They had promised on their graves that they would never make a music video or be on MTV.

It's okay... they wanted to make more money, no biggie.
