What would you say is better for SEO ?

How many blogs do you see in the top 10, and how many tubes?

Blogs are better for targetting long-tail keywords, while tubes better for simple keywords. But in the end, it's all about howmuch backlinks you have.

Agreed.

I think Tubes have been winning since Time On Site and other user behavior based metrics became significant SEO factors.

The more movies (especially long ones), the more the visitors will stay there to watch, and re-visit as well.

It is not related to the type of a site and both can rank well if the job is done right.
Tubes are leading because of massive amounts of links and plus some other factors like bigger time on page.

It is easy to rank if the domain has an authority, whatever that you have there. SEO is about multiple factors. If you do all of them properly, there is nothing stopping you to go up in SERPs.

Once i was watching one Canadian tv serie regularly, and each outro was ending same sentence" content is the king", i was kind a wondering how did you managed to affect them

But anyway, it also depend from which role you shoot - for example, if you buy traffic, then yes it is far more important to have good content, but if you are webmaster, then it's more important to have traffic as traffic can be always sold regardless do you have good content or not. So basicly, depending on business model.

If you're trying to rank free porn, tubes is my guess.

If you're trying to rank informational sites, blogs will work (based on a topic). Free porn "blogs" for me at least don't do as well as a tube will.

Would you visit AND ACTUALLY USE your own site? (that's been my way of looking at things now)

I do well with blogs and I've seen some pretty amazing adult blogs that others have created and that rank really well. Go with whatever you enjoy working on.
