There will be a time when pretty much every job that is primarily manual labor of some kind, from construction to manufacturing, fast food to even driving, will be done by robots.
We will find ourselves in a situation where there simply won't be enough jobs for everyone who wants one. Shit will get very interesting then. |

when robots are replacing workers the next step is that robots can also replace companies. at the very end will be kind of a functional socialism where everybody will be rich as he does not have to pay or work for anything. the bots will just produce it and will not complain anything. but i admit that the time between the start and the final is a hard one. |

They've been saying humans will not be needed for decades now.... Instead, what happened is entire new industries have been created - programmers, coders, web designers, graphic designers, IT people, computer sales people, people to design marketing campaigns.... The more things change the more they stay the same.

When I was a kid in the 80's I always heard about computers taking everyone's job. We were kind of correct in that they took some jobs, but, as you say, created many more. This is because, at their core, computers weren't made to eliminate us, they were made to enhance what we can do and make us better. Automation is not that. Robots are designed to remove us from the equation. Sure, some industries will be created and new jobs will be created but almost all of them will take some pretty intense schooling or training. In the past, a person might have worked in a warehouse for Sears, and now works in a warehouse for Amazon, but soon almost no humans will be needed in any warehouse. Humans won't be needed to make food, build homes, drive people or things around, build things, stock shelves etc. I just can't see this industry creating enough new jobs to replace the millions of jobs they will end. In short. Computers = help us be better and more efficient. Robots = remove as many of us from the equation as possible. |

as long as ANY human is needed this people will make more money as the ones that do not have a job. the one with a job will complain that he have to feed the ones without a job and the ones without a job will complain that they do not get a job. this will make the poor/rich scissors a much bigger problem. on the other hand: if workers are not needed and the jobless do not have money - the production is not necessary. to produce something you always need buyers with money. this circle can only be stopped when money is out of the game. when mankind have "legal slaves" that do all and everything for everybody. THAN the world will be a much better place because everybody can have everything and jealousy (at least for products) will not exist anymore. nobody have to rob a bank, nobody have to scam the other and nobody will kill for money. if people can have everything the funny part is, that they will not want it anymore because it is just ballast. i believe that within the next 100 years the world will become such a place without people that think they are better than others. a world where everybody can be what he want to be. unfortunately i will not see this world as I am far too old. but I hope it for the next generations. |

Thommy you can freeze your body and wait for science to catch up Humans frozen by cryogenics ‘could be brought back to life in 10 years Around the world, hundreds of people have had their bodies frozen at extremely low temperatures, just after death – in the hope that they can be revived in the future. Some are so confident that they’ll ‘wake up’ in the future that their loved ones have left them voicemail messages. But the moment when people can be revived by science could come sooner than we expect, according to Dennis Kowalski of Michigan’s Cryonics Institute. Kowalski told the Daily Star, ‘If you take something like CPR, that would have seemed unbelievable 100 years ago. Now we take that technology for granted. ‘Cryonically bringing someone back to life should definitely be doable in 100 years, but it could be as soon as ten.’ |

crippling boredom will destroy humans if they do nothing...only a small % of homo sapiens can actually deal with doing nothing all day long...they are called idiots...the rest of the population will suffer greatly once you take their job away...

not possible to explain it to YOU.
you have proven too often that you are not able to think out of the box. you did not understand that all and everything around you is a product of visions. there was a time when everything what is possible today, was called impossible from people like you. so you are not the present and not the future - you are the past. you are and you always have been the 11.59 am that never reaches noon. |

So let me tell you how the world has worked ever since we started the long journey. Men didn't invent fire, stone tools, pottery, weaving, etc to make the world a better place for everyone. They did it to make themselves and family better off than their neighbours. That rule still applies today even with everyone here, including you. So thinking everyone will be elite isn't going to work because the reality is the best need more incentive to stat better. Marx failed with his ideology because it was flawed and no society based on equality will work. Because people aren't equal. Every successful society needs winners, losers and those that don't compete. The winners get more than the losers who get more than those who don't try. So clever arse, pick holes in the truth. |

you can ask every politician in every political direction and he will tell you that there is no better dream as socialism. it is just not to realise in a world full of egosits. well i showed you a possible way but you can not see the chance because you are this clock that stpped to work at 11.59 am decades ago. and whatever will happens around you you will always tell people that it is 11.59 am. you get the result from your right wing sources I assume and THEY tell you what you have to think about it. Quote:
but the point is that in a world where money exists it will not be different. Quote:
at the end they are producing themself and make them even better without human hands. the problem of our civilization is that every thing you can get have to be made from someone. and this individual have to be paid for it. as more he gets paid as more he can afford but it also means that less people can afford the product when he gets paid a lot. this is what makes the whole thing unfair forever. there was a time when people had slaves and the prosperity from the slave owners went up. but 1. this is inhuman and have nothing to do with my idea 2. here again are only a few people owning the slaves. in my vision everyone is owner of this "slaves" and they are working for everyone. that makes money needless. and yes - there are still some aspects that are limited and can not be produced - like the villa at the sea - but in a far future everyone can have it because the reality will easy be replaced by virtuality. in a few years you will not even be able to see the difference of reality and virtuality. look this is already nearly 3 years old - imagine where this technique will be in 100 years you are right when you say that humans are not ready for that. and THIS is my point. we only HAVE to make them ready in the next 100 years because in such a world we will not have this problems anymore that we are facing now. all we have to do is to understand that things can be changed for EVERYBODY. not only for a few people that think they are better than others. i hope at least that you at least are used to read the "little prince" from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. He said a very true sentence: “If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.” |
