BULLSHIT.
Don't believe it.
Plasma TV's will "burn in" just like every other TV except one:

DLP

Price is still a little too steep but they WILL NOT SUFFER BURN IN.

Believe me, I made that mistake already and it cost me nine mother fucking thousand dollars.

mine is a 100 inch screen with a DLP projector
I just moved in.. well 2 months ago... and still havent got the thing setup yet

I have a davis CinemaOne Pro DLP projector for sale for $2250 if anybody wants it.. its just like brand new, hardly used

my new house doesnt have room for 2 projectors so I'm keeping my $10k Integra and selling the davis. I paid $5k for the Davis just a few months ago.

have to second the suggestions towards getting a DLP projector instead of a plasma... for the money, plasmas are still a rip-off these days, and don't really look all that hot anyways... also, plasmas are *very* prone to "burn-in", be very careful to not leave one on CNN too long or any station that has a ticker at the bottom of the screen... be just as wary of pausing DVDs, playing console games, or too much network tv that has a watermark in the corner, it can become permanent on a plasma..

go do some reading over at the AVSForum, there are seperate forums for both projectors and plasmas, lots of good information over there... as far as i can tell, the only thing plasmas have over projectors is legibility in bright ambient lighting situations. projectors beat out plasmas in every other area..

no, the technology itself is burn-in prone, so they caution against any application that could lead to it..

Got a NEC 42" Plasma. Love it! Great resolution and I do love the 16.9 video frame setup.

Doesn't burn in the screen but on the actual display device or the tubes. I know CRT projectors can get it too, but I don't think DLP or LCD can.

Plasma is supposed to be the worst offender though.

I agree plasmas are overpriced. The best system to get is a rear projector because the picture isnt affected by the lights in the room.

The rear projection tv's I don't fancy too much just because you cant really get a good picture unless you are facing straight in the center, but they aren't bad

the picture in plasma televisions are insane, im considering getting one very soon, but this info about burn-in is new to me..!
does burn-in happen with all plasma televisions?
