What is going to happen to the likes of AcPay, Globill, Verotel etc., who are processing Visa without requiring the fee?

I'm greedy...

Is the only solution for Canadian webmasters seeking 3rd party processing getting a prescence in either the UK, or USA?

If you believe Visa International, and who doesn't? then they will be required to register as an IPSP, pay a per Sponsored Merchant fee and not acquire across Visa Regional borders.

We do have shopping carts which integrate with our system... if you have your own merchant account..

Epoch does not allow the sale of deliverable goods through the IPSP model.

Yes, or another Visa Region where 5967 MCC is accepted. Visa Canada just does not want high risk.

What has Epoch heard about VISA and the rumors that they are likely to stop processing for AVS systems?

Also, what is your policy on multiple time copyright infringers who process using Epoch? Do you cancel their processing?

1) Why can't I figure out what you guys charge on your website?

CCBill and iBill layout the program. I would never bother to sign up with you or even email you unless I have an idea what the fuck is your cut.

I have a series of questions relating to cross sells:

1) If a site offers a cross sell, do they see a decrease
in the unique number of people signing up? Does the
cross sell scare some people away?

2) On average what percentage of potential cross sell
transactions are cross sold. How much does having the
cross sell box, pre-checked affect this figure?

3) Do you use any different scrubbing algorithims on cross
sold transactions vs. non-cross sold transactions? In other
words if someone is approved for the initial transaction
are the cross sells automatically approved.

4) Do you have any plans to offer "forced" cross sell
packages where the surfer cannot opt out? We are
potentially interested in offering our surfers a choice:
a) 1 site for $49.95 / month
b) 2 sites for $29.95 / month each
Under the current system (as I understand it), the surfer
could choose option "b" and then not take the cross sell.

We have heard rumors. We have discussed this issue with Visa too. The situation is fluid. However, we have no formal notice nor do we intend to turn off any properly sponsored compliant merchant. The issue seems to be that Visa does not want their brand used to verify age. We continue to monitor the situation.

The second question requires a definition of Copyright Infringement. If we have a proper DMCA Notice, we require that the offending image be removed immediately. That being said, every situation is different and we handle these depending on the circumstances. There are not many DMCA notices or complaints that we see.

Any truth to the following rumors:

1) Transactions under $10 are almost never charged back, since it costs more for the customers bank to process the charge back
so the bank credits the customer without doing a chargeback.

2) Very small recurring transactions (say $5.95 or less) are almost never cancelled and will consistently rebill at about 95%.

1) No and Yes.
2) We don't give out stats and we don't give out stats. Our clients really get upset when that happens. However... cross sells have been going on with EPOCH for over a year and they have and continue to be very successful.
3) No.
4) No and call Clay at 888-627-3888 for options.

Thxs,

There has been no discussion of MC asking for a registration fee for webmasters at this time. The registration fee is for IPSP's who choose to go the MSP route. Paycom is a merchant and will not go the MSP route.

The IPSP rule really only applies to VISA. I have heard nothing in terms of AMEX getting back in the biz.

1) Transactions for dollar amounts less than $10 chargeback at a much lower rate than those of higher amounts.

2) Lower dollar recurring tends to have a longer retention and as stated in #1 they cbk at a lower rate

All rates are negotiated.

We have no reserve, rather a security deposit, built to a fixed amount over a long period of time.

for 35min or after the get charged 1.95 for one day trial. Makes more

Are any differences in processing of US and EU issued cards? From which regions cards rejected more often?

Ok you obviously didnt understand my question, I'll rephrase it.

I closed my site almost three years ago, you've been holding $12k of my money. My last chargeback was September 1st. ok... now when does my money get released?

I believe tech was making changes to allow this. I will see that this is done.

Cards issued in the US are accpted more than non US. The biggest reason: More cards issued in the US, as a region and not having AVS outside the US presents additional risks for merchants.
