The GFY businessboard is gone. Thanks to bad management / operators, this board has gone from the best board in the business to a piece of politcal crap fuelled by some idiots here. To bad, used to be good for business.

The question what can be effectively done about that, I have an idea:

Let's start by an example and do some business - here's what I'm currently looking for:

1) site owners with sites that have a solid user experience and get SE traffic that want to earn more with their ad revenue (invite only, with ad rates and payouts growing for 6 years)

2) affiliates that are pushing dating or want to earn well especially with the following traffic (GEO's):

Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, Serbia, Poland (+ Austria, Germany and more on request)

White label dating, API, third party tracking support, advanced promo tools such as profile export, RSS feeds etc. available. Mailing traffic welcomed.

3) back links from solid sites, contextual links (no click farms in the footer)

4) new contacts, especially at the affiliate end - mailers, site owners, media buyers - only proven business to refer (and some that I won't)

So how many businesses posts have you made in the last week? I always find it funny that people bitch that the board doesnt spoon feed them what they want on a silver platter yet they do nothing to support what they want.

The board is what it is today, because everyone has your mentality. You expect it to be what you want yet you dont want to do anything to make it that. The poltical crap is not what killed the board, the political crap is just filler content from those of us still active.. What killed the board is people like you who dont get involved with starting topics you are interested in..

None of us who post in the dumb political topics attack or try to run away business topics.. Its the fact no one can be bothered to start business topics but they can always complain where there are none.

The simple fact is if we stopped the political topics the board would be dead. Our dumb topics keep it alive and even I wish it was kept alive with business related stuff, but no one posts business stuff..

Since then, ALL and it is not that much, since mostly I am at the business end, I have learned here. I have now for over 2 years excellent webmaster ( GFY member) I have a DMCA taked down service for about the same time ( GFY member) and a banner maker and clip uploader ( also GFY member) for about 2 years and added an additional payment processor 2 years ago also from GFY member.

Business gets done but those of us in the Biz long enough now know how to get our answers to our issues without posting threads. We use GFY as a contact base. It's also a helpful place to keep all your Show adventures and contacts organized. So GFY is still quite useful.

But when it comes to the political threads there are about 10 nics you could ban and 98% would be gone overnight. But for long timers in the Biz like Crockett, Robbie and 2MuchMark they are part of the problem, too. They are the ones the fake nics are arguing with and they argue back. It takes two to tango as they say.

It's sad, but the harsh truth. My guess is that they're prioritizing other things. They could have turned the board into a more functional community and what surprises me is that it wouldn't take a lot of regular time.

The industry itself also had an impact, the less money on the table people have to work with, the less people compete.Tubes definitely had a negative influence on the industry and gfy. I'm not saying it's impossible to make a living with adult far from, many give up prematurely though and doesn't walk the extra mile necessary for something to become somewhat successful. All these small timers gets out-manouvered and leave permanently, then moving elsewhere for easier money. Where a majority fails again cause they just don't have what it takes to become successful.
