come to long island and buy the viper from my grandfather's chrysler dealership=this way we both benefit

John,

Thats a hard choice... your yard is not that bad from what I remember and your 4 car garage only has 2 cars... My choice would be a 360 :Graucho :Graucho

chaffer 04-26-2003 05:12 PM

what kind of landscaping?

beemk 04-26-2003 05:43 PM

if you cant afford both and already have a car for transportationt he viper should be out of the question.

Theo 04-26-2003 06:22 PM

i like the garden as it is...

Pappa 04-26-2003 06:58 PM

Buy the viper and take a few spins on the lawn with it. Then you'll get a great car and some interesting landscaping effects at the same time :glugglug

davvve 04-26-2003 08:09 PM

buy the viper for god's sake

GoGoBar 05-27-2003 08:10 PM

Talked them down to $76k and signed the contract yesterday, someone shoot me!

nofx 05-27-2003 08:17 PM

go with the viper, 76k?! what kind of landscaping are you getting done? you better have a roller coaster and a huge waterfall.

There will be a lot of hardscape going in, a lot of retaining walls since the yard is so sloped. And also a LOT of planting. A number of decent sized trees (10-20 feet). It adds up fast. I think it will look great when it's done, just a lot of money to part with for moving dirt around and putting some stones down :)

I like it just the way it is. Leave it alone. :2 cents:

holy fuck! what a mansion...
if you live in THAT
then you can afford BOTH the landscaping AND the porsche GT (fuck the viper)

:thumbsup

You are talking about the car, right?

GoGoBar 05-27-2003 08:56 PM

No, the landscaping :)

Right now the only thing in front of the house besides that tree is about a dozen 18" bluestone squares placed about 3 feet part. There isn't even a walk way. We're geting a large walkway, trees, plants, bushes, retaining walls, etc.

As a side note, there's a big different between "being able to buy" and "affording". Sure, I could buy both, but can't comfortably afford both at once :( There are a lot of threads on here about how webmasters should keep a sizeable reserve set aside. This is very true and a very smart thing to do. It's easy to spend, hard to save, but when it comes time to need it, you'll be happy you saved.
