i meant more the strategy than the pop.
it was effective, not in that it got me to click through, but i bet it would a normal person.

dude, perfect! you could pop in a window without scrollbars or menu, then make an animated gif that looks like people chatting, make the text box typable, and the button a real button, people would sooo fall for that! make the send button go to your site and BAM! yay beer!
