Adword - Google, Bing, etc. Any experts?

Maybe I should post this in a different thread, but it like 5:00 am and I'm working on about 10 % brain power.

Here's the deal:
My competitors are using adwords on a few different search engines. I have tried but cannot get a ROI. My competition is not light years ahead of me, so I'm thinking maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Any experts on here that are willing to work with this?

I was paying like $2 per click and not converting at all. If I could make even a few % in return then I spend I would be on board, but so far it does not seem worth it.

it is hard to know why your ROI is low without seeing your product/keyword/ad/landing page first...adwords is a money pit if you do not know what you are doing...

you have to optimize it 100% from triggered keywords/phrases, exact matches, properly attractive ad, good landing page etc...

are you talking about this product sincats.com ? (i like it btw).

if you are going to promote this you really need at first a very good tracking system and a lot of knowledge how to test, interpret and optimize a campaign.

media buying is not a lottery - to compete in that you compete with professionals what have the tools, knowing the tools and are able to see the chances.

but i think your product is one what can work.

Study your competitors billing. Chances are, he can afford higher rates cause of his aggressive billing setup.

There's a scumbag named Tim Bartley who's been fucking surfers over for years now with his scammy billing. Pushing virtually all other webmasters out cause there's no way to compete with this:

He buys out virtually all tube spots to his shit sites. I don't know why traffic brokers even bother to offer spots, cause virtually all of them are taken over by that fuck.

Yes that's the website, sincats.com. It does pretty good for organic and link exchanges, and I've got a pretty good SEO marketing running, but I'd love to get something working for adwords.

I've looked around for some experts, but most don't want to touch adult content. And the ones that do have not been very successful. So I'm seeking a pro that specializes in adult.

Everyone knows him. Name, address, etc.

No idea why nothing's been done about it. He's even got GFY in his pocket (threads about him get deleted cause he's a BRO).

Apparently, if you are valuable to people ($$$) everyone looks the other way, like nothing is happening.

Public Service Announcement: if this negatively affects your business, PM me. I have an idea to do something about it.

Word to the wise, some lose a ton on adwords with very deep pockets or hope that it improve branding and not the immediate bottom line.

Try Bing. Was half the price per click for me but 1/4 the conversions It may work for you.

How long has your competitor been running adwords campaigns? Are you basing your assumption that he has better ROMI than you are experiencing on that ...

Do you understand the difference of ROMI and ROI?
ROI is a directly attributable return on your investment.
ROMI means 'return on marketing investment' this is inclusive of branding, top-of-the-mind name recognition, and in the case of the Internet: Increased type-in direct returns as the result of your advertising campaigns. You want to use a origin cookie at a minimum to track ad words referrals. You can use a more sophisticated finger-print and database tracking too.

I agree with Thommy about better tracking and attribution and allocation of ROMI.

Simplest thing to do is make some landing pages, 2 or 3, using more contemporary design. Make a Google Analytics account for use on those pages and attach that to your Ad Words account.
Try for a lot of long tail keyword phrases with lower click costs -- test if this improves your ROMI/ROI
Set up goals to track your Ad Words referrals' fall off (points of failure) -- include user activated responses so you have bread crumbs to follow your tracking and can see where your weak points are in your conversion funnel.

You should be able to get a 10 to 1 conversion (cash paid in) ratio from an Ad Words referral. Customer lifetime value (CLTV) is the real measurement to determine your ROMI.

If a AdWords referral conversion costs you $25 and the customer spends $300 during his CLTV and you net $50 is what I mean. You doubled your advertising spend in gross profit on that customer acquisition.

I studied AdWords for a long time. It's a great art to make good money (=ROI) using that
