:stop mp3 --> wav problem

I need to burn a cd and convert mp3 files to wave files. I tried several converters and also Nero but they all seem to convert the file with 30% volume added which gives an annoying distortion in the song. Since all the programs do the same it looks more like a local (volume) setting but i have no clue what.

Anybody any ideas?

Nero should be able to burn mp3 files to an ordinary audio cd..

If you burn an audio cd NERO will change .mp3 files to .wav file. Or you can change mp3 to wav with: "MP32WAV"-Software

Im confused.

When I use Nero, it automatically converts it to wav and burns it to cd in a one step process.

Are you converting to wav seperately and then burning the wav to cd?

As for the volume problem, wont nero correct it if you select normalization? Different tracks at different bitrates crammed onto the same cd will have volume differences, normalization will fix it.

I guess i made a confusing post then.

I know Nero can burn mp3 as wav and also can normalize them...

The thing is, no matter what program i use and no matter if i turn on normalize, the converted files are WAY to loud. So loud that every song is just alot of distortion. For some reason every program adds extra volume to the song no matter what i do...and its freaking me out.

in nero, set up as sudio CD...
drag your MP3's over to the cd window.
burn.
it automatically converts the mp3's automatically.

i've done this 1000 times and every cd works just fine in a normal CD player.

as for your sound issue, go into the audio track info, and click the filters tab.. you can set up your normalization and other filters.

Oh I see. Bizarre. Never had that problem.

Is it every mp3 you try and convert? Have you tried it on ones you personally ripped from cd, or are these someone elses rips?

Its fixed, dont ask how cuz i dunno.

I just played around in the audio settings and tried to burn the cd again and now its fine...without filters or anything.

Anyway thanks for the replies (however everbody seems to think i cant burn mp3's which wasnt the problem )

Labret, they were someone elses rips but like i thought before, it was a problem in my sound settings somewhere, not a software problem nor a mp3 problem.
