video editing questions

I got this GL2 camera and I forgot the biggest part how to get the video from mini DV tape onto the computer. Luckily i have the Dazzle Capture card but it kind of sucks for anything over 352x240. What do you use to get the video online? Also what program do you currently use to edit the video such as add text in the corner or add frames in text like a preview trailer. Thank you!

Right now, I'm using Studio 7 by Pinnacle and really like it. I've used others (Premier / Video Studio by ULead) and Studio 7 ranks among the easiest of use... although Video Studio is pretty simple, too.

If you're just looking for simple editing like dumping into the computer, light editing, adding music and text then Studio 7 is the way I go. If I need to make a more complictated edit... professional level... then Premier is what I use.

Vegas works pretty well, I like using it when I'm in a hurry.

For professional video editing, You need to use the Photoshop for video, I mean Adobe After effect

For "professional" video editing, you would not use a PC in the first place.
