Can't find that damn billing processor

The other day I found a billing processor that offered free VISA registration for US clients. No ifs, ands, or buts. The only catch was their processing rate was like 20% (or higher, can't remember).

I saw this CCBill banner today, which is slightly misleading:

You pay the $750 up front, then they credit you back. Which isn't an option right now.

Has anybody heard of the first company I mentioned?

Thanks,

The Lemur

No, but I like that CCBill banner for what it's worth!

think real hard about this... going w/ a processor that is in some way trying to skirt the law is not a good long-term solution, whatever loophole they are making use of to get around VISA USA mandate probably will not last forever, or for a month for all you know. we use ccBill w/ all of our paysites, and true to their word, they credited us back all of our registration fee in a timely manner, and we now process daily w/out worries of the sky falling downward on our processing. there is something to be said for not feeling the need to check GFY daily to see if my processor has gone sour and started bouncing checks, suspended billing across the board, etc. etc.. just my , but if you cant afford the $750 fee you should try to borrow it or something, ccBill *will* return it to you..

Thanks for the input, chupacabra. I'll email them and ask how they're doing it. If they won't tell me specifics, I'm not willing to risk it.

correction: if you can't afford the $750 fee, find something else to do as this is not for you.

Paying 20% for processing is stupid as well.

i don't think its any secret how they do it... they pay it back to you added to your regular checks/wires over the course of a few pay-periods. also, at least last year when the VISA USA smackdown took place, you didn't have to pay the entire $750 all at once, you could have it deducted from your paychecks in varying increments (your choice, i should add), so you never had to write them a check for $750 at all... not sure how that part figures in for new customers though, i was an existing customer at that time. the fact that ccBill pays you back the $750 VISA fee makes it a non-issue as far as i'm concerned, you get to operate and process within the actual letter of the law, and you get your cheddar back.

you should definitely hit up corvett here on GFY w/ any specific ccBill questions, he can clear up any queries you have better than i..!
