Police arrest in Spain one of FBI most wanted fugitives
MADRID, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Spanish police on Friday said they had arrested one of the U.S. FBI's Ten Most Wanted fugitives, who was staying at a hotel in Madrid under a false identity.
Michael James Pratt, a New Zealand citizen, had been sentenced to life in prison for child pornography, sexual exploitation and sexual assault in the United States.
Police said he was involved in the audiovisual production of pornography, recruiting underage girls and young women through deception between 2012 and 2019. He earned more than $17 million with those activities.

GirlsDoPorn's Pratt Pleads Not Guilty After Partner Gets 14 Years

SAN DIEGO—Michael James Pratt, the founder of the criminally-operated GirlsDoPorn website, appeared for the first time in a San Diego federal district court this afternoon on the 19-count indictment against him on charges including sex trafficking, production of child pornography and money laundering, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.
A hearing is set for Thursday to determine whether Pratt will be granted bail. He will first have to be determined not to be a flight risk, but this would be a hard sell given the fact that he fled the country in 2019 just before the civil trial against him on similar charges got underway. Pratt was arrested by law enforcement in Spain in 2022.
Pratt was placed on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's most wanted list along with terrorists and drug cartel bosses.
Pratt's court appearance today followed the sentencing earlier in the day at the same courthouse of his former business partner, Matthew Isaac Wolfe. Wolfe was sentenced to 14 years in prison for crimes related to his involvement in the operation of GirlsDoPorn.

The government fabricated a lot of the evidence to make it more sensationalize the case. The money laundering charge was bogus. There was no evidence to collaborate the Pratt was money laundering. Same with the child pornography charges. All of the girls were 18 years old. The amount of falsified evidence by the government in this case is unprecedented.
Let’s be clear, I am not defending Pratt or his partners. They are guilty on many things and likely deserve jail time. HOWEVER, let’s not glazed over the fact that the government added some extra charges to fatten up their case.
Pratt was beyond stupid to go to Spain. He should have ran to Brazil, Thailand or other places with non extradition treaties.Comment
