what does the 'bandwidth' number on kazaa mean?
Some of these videos are taking a shitload of time to download even with cable. Some videos come real quick but some of them take hours to download only a half hour. I'm thinking that the 'bandwidth' number has something to do with it.
does the bandwidth number mean how slow/fast your download will be? If the file holder is on 56k and I'm on cable, will that affect my download speed?

(that was kind of a shitty analogy, LOL o well) but thats how it works with internet connections. standard 56k will only give you about tops 7kbps download / upload speed. and your lag time is determined by the connection speed of you, to any particular host. say if you have a 30 ping in an online game, thats quite fast... 30 ping means 30 milliseconds of delay from you, to the server. so if you were to play on a 56k (the smaller pipeline, less transfer speed), you'll usually get no less than a 170 ping. |
