create a specific email address on your server that nooneowould/could POSSIBLY kow about and test it yourself, you won't be impressed.

there is no doubt in my mind CC companies sell lists without the knowledge of the owner of those emails. Most probably done by an individual company workers.

since i would stake my entire reputation on the plain fact that i've never given out a single email addy, i find it funny (especially since i've had well over 300,000 non-trial subscribers over the years). talk to ibill if you have an issue, but i've never heard of such a thing from any former member of my site. hmm, Sleazy's comment would somewhat explain why I have been getting massive spam since I joined quiet's site last year. I never used that particular university addy on the web, except for online computer part purchases.

All of the sudden the spam went thru the roof, although OSU has quite potent spam filters.
