Linkin Park - Meteora, WTF?!

So I just picked up their new album, and I have a few thoughts.

Now, I think linkin park is a good band with some really decent tunes. But, listening to this album, all I hear is lyrics about pain, suffering, angst etc. This from people who are old enough to have kids of their own? I mean I know their target audience is teens, but seriously, what do these guys know about being teenagers? I'm really starting to detect a bit of fakeness from these guys.

Any linkin park fans? Let's hear your thoughts.

I think the new albums is much deeper than the older one. More layered, if you know what I mean. I like it. Good stuff.

I was friends with one of the singers in high school, Chester. I dont think that he was the most popular guy in grade school, but in HS, he began with a band and stuck with it. To be honest with you, i did not see much of a difference between his band and any of the other HS bands. Then he got into a different band, grey daze, and eventually, linkin park

last time i saw him was in early '99, he was a courier in downtown phoenix.

it might be their style, and now their image...typecast..who knows

I loved the 48 layers of production and 5/8 turntable break down on "anarchy in the uk"

I hate nu-metal lyrics. It's all whiney bitch shit, based on absolutely nothing.

It annoys me almost as much as those pople I knew in high school who dressed stupid and constantly claimed that everyone thought they were a "freak", but in reality it would be scientifically impossible for anyone to really give less of a shit what they look like.

I haven't even given the CD a chance, and I doubt I will. From what I hear, it's production is tighter, but the lyrics are way too angst driven.

How can a band of best friends (or so they say in articles) make so much money, see so many places, and be so unhappy. What a crock of shit.

I iz big fan and I think Meteora is a wicked album but I think hybrid theory is still better. While listening to Meteora I do sometimes think they are all singing negative vibes, mainly about hating someone or getting away from them.

nothing wrong with music being about hate. Hell, I would much rather an angry ass song then a flowery love song. Its just that by simply being about hate doesn't actually make their music sound like it is full of rage.

Honest rage + Well played loud and chunky gutair = chance to be good

it's seems it's so hard to find an "original" song these days. even in the days of hendrix, there was a lot of remixes. unfortunately today it runs insanely rampant. bleh.

anyone remember "house of the rising sun"? awsome song, but nothing new. go out and download some leadbelly, "rising sun".

apparently the guy went to jail in like the early 1900's or something for stabbing someone in the stomach. i guess he was really just a bad, bad man. but someone heard him singing in jail so they got him out and made records

Funny thing is that half of you can't name a song of Linkin Park.

Pick any two of these guys...

...and put them in a no holds barred street fight against these two guys...

...and I bet the last two would win.
