Please Help!!! Computer problems.

Well, there were two power surges this morning and my computer was on both times. Now, the CPU does not start up for longer than about half a second.

If I remove the plug from the wall and plug it back in, it'll start up for about half a second(hdd and power lights flash), then it turns off and won't start up again unless I unplug then replug.

I'm thinking the power supply? Anyone have any ideas? I really need to get this back up.

Thanks in advance...I'm on my laptop btw...

I definetely hope it didn't corrupt any hard drive stuff. That just might cause me some problems, but if the motherboard is damaged, it gives me a nice reason to buy a new computer ;)

Well, I have a surge protector, but I guess it isn't that good. Time for a better one.

No shit. People will spend 1000's on computers, and won't spring $100 for a good UPS. We even have them for our stereos, tv's and shit....
