Please Help!!! Computer problems.
Well, there were two power surges this morning and my computer was on both times. Now, the CPU does not start up for longer than about half a second.
If I remove the plug from the wall and plug it back in, it'll start up for about half a second(hdd and power lights flash), then it turns off and won't start up again unless I unplug then replug. I'm thinking the power supply? Anyone have any ideas? I really need to get this back up. Thanks in advance...I'm on my laptop btw... |

sounds like a power supply deal, bring it in local

its most likely the power supply, as you thought... replace that first, cross fingers..

get yourself a good UPS :2 cents:

As others said more then likely a power supply just hope it didnt damage the motherboard... while your getting a new power supply, may I suggest a new surge protector also :2 cents:

Well, I have a surge protector, but I guess it isn't that good. Time for a better one.
