Fox News... I just can't stand it.

I have to admit.. I've been flipping the channels from time to time.. CNN, MSNBC and once in a while FoxNews..

But this takes the cake..

Their two current anchors right now..

Steve and E.D.

(you may have to be 30+ or older to know who I'm referring to).

I don't really like the commentary from those two..

The woman said something like:
"the UN wants to be apart of the rebuilding, but they didn't even help with the liberation."

I wish she'd just stick to the facts and not spew her personal views.

FoxNews is by far my favorite channel for this coverage. They're for the most part factual (resulting in pro-US views). They also have my two faovrite political shows: O'reilly Factor and Hannity's show. As far as their late night coverage goes, some of these people are just talking heads...and it gets ungodly annoying. Once they get a "late breaking" story, they pound it to death until you've heard the same information thirty times. As soon as I hear the same story twice, I check the other channels and if stuff is repeated there I kill it all together.

A lot of the time (because of location of embedded reporters) all three of the major stations will be covering three major things happening. It's impossible for one to catch it all...which is about the only reason I flip around. Overall though, Fox takes the cake.

I said it before and I'll say it again.

Fox News is the Al-Jazeera of American reporting.

Did anyone else actually watch Al-Jaazera?
It seems they showed both sides pretty much...
Not that I understood a word of what they were saying ..

Yeah sure, they show more dead people than any western channel but that's probably because they are not as afraid of lawsuits for upsetting someone as some other channels...

Is showing dead Iraqi children to an already sensitive Arab world really responsible jounalism? Or gross sensationalism?

For a while, there was a slightly liberal-leaning press. (Conservatives say totally liberal, but many liberals feel the opposite, so go figure.) So, Fox News came in, claiming they were unbiased. What they really meant was just that they are biased in the other direction. Personally, I think they are far more biased than the so-called liberal media.

I mean, would you trust Fox to deliver your news? The people who bring us Fear Factor, When _____ Go Bad, etc.?!

They above quote *is* fact. you want to point out the "personal view" you see here.

I suppose that depends on if you think dead children are important enough to be newsworthy.
Or if you think a M2A2 running into a Humwee is more so ...

The word in the Arab word seems to be everyone wants Al-Jaazera to shut up since they support democracy. Something the Saudi family don't much like.

Pressure was put on Qatar to close them down but apparantly the Sheik behind them is pretty powerful.

He is apparantly one of those making money from the US base there...

Things are never as black and white as some seem to want them ..

I agree with the statement. I don't agree with the way it was reported. She said it to mock the UN and mock the French.

I think the UN has been totally ineffective and I'm certainly not a fan of the French either.

I want my news to present the FACTS in an unbiased manner... She jokes and pokes fun at the French and UN. I agree with the sentiment, but I think it is totally unprofessional journalism.

at least she pokes fun at the right people.
I guess you'd rather get your news from CBS anchor Dan Rather who preceded President Bush's address to the nation after 9/11 with the snide remark, "No matter how you feel about him, he is still our president."

or perhaps from ABC TV anchor Peter Jennings who questioned President Bush's motives for not returning immediately to Washington, DC and commented, "We're all pretty skeptical and cynical about Washington."

sorry, I'd much rather hear my news with an American slant than an American bashing slant. but thats just me.

Both of those examples are IMO unprofessional too.

If unbiased journalism is too much to ask for, then I agree with you. I'd rather hear an American slant on it too.

When then laugh and joke like that it really does make it look like propaganda. I like my propaganda to look like news. Ignorance is bliss.

I've liked Fox News over the past few days too, but these two jackasses rubbed me the wrong way this morning.

interesting enough,
I haven't clicked CBS, ABC and NBC once in 3 weeks...
they are relevant today as France Germany Russia relevant today,
despite where they were 50 years ago...

The show that they host is more of talk show type format then straight news, in fact they flip over to the real news anchors for updates. So they are actually supposed to be giving thier opinions since they are the hosts of the show as much as O'Reilly gives his on his show.... The real news broadcasts start at 7 I think...

also ruled as the power broker concert promoter in the sauna during the original Blues Brothers movie
