Macbook Pro 13" Retina

Fuck.

Anyone has it?

Is that ok to work in Photoshop on it? Does retina screen do well or shit is still too small on it?

Like would you call it doable or fairly good to work?

P.S.: i cant fucking test it otherway.

My kids' mom has the 13in and it's way to small to do anything visual. She said she even struggles using it to code.

Why not adjust the resolution and text/icon size so they are more readable?

I recently bought a 15" 4K Dell XPS. I was annoyed at first because all the text and icons were "normal" sized and I wanted the higher resolution so I would have real estate, then I discovered I can adjust the size of the text and icons to whatever I want. Now the text and icons are quite small but I have great real estate and it displays fine on a 27" monitor anyway.

Good question. But I have no answer. Lots of people don't like messing with resolution settings, so that would be my guess. That adjusting doesn't make matters better, for her...at least.

Connecting external big screen sure does well, but in general, seems like not enough space - working graphics designs would be zooming all the time to see things.

Windows has scaling for that.

I use it on my 13" 4k display - otherwise everything is way too small.

Silent notebook - anything without a dedicated graphics card. New intel processors have good built in graphics.

Photoshop gonna be fine unless you need video encoding.

Forget MacBooks, get a Dell XPS, they fucking rock.

It's too small. With Photoshop, the bigger the better.

What you may want to do is get the 13" Macbook, but connect it to a nice big 27 or 34" Monitor. It will support 4K res, and do so at 60hz too. If you haven't seen it, it's freakin' gorgeous.

13" is for in-bed use or when you are traveling

Obviously you it's not intended as a main PC.

Altho you can hook up an external monitor to it.

You can do that on an Dell XPS.

Win10 is very good. No need to fuck around with OSX.

I watched many reviews, mostly people say its SUPER fine for video bloggers / editing, retina gives a lot of space for a time line. Applying effects is instant.

Dell XPS is also fairly expensive.
But I got the point - here, 15", DELL Inspiron 15 5578.
Core i7 7500U | LCD: 15.6" FHD Touch | Intel HD 620 | RAM: 16GB DDR4 | SSD: 512GB | Windows 10

Sounds good, I was hesitant only about Intel HD 620.

I want a silent non-huge ( 17 is nice I know, but 95% time i work with external monitor and other time 15 seems nice comparing to honestly big17"). 15" Full HD I can handle photoshop I guess.

So, finally, I went with a maxed out macbook air 13" - good to work in the PS with an external display , good enough to play World Of Warcraft and nice to jerk off to MILF content I admire.

Main add-on - it's FUCKING SILENT.
