On Saturday night's edition of 'Justice With Jeanine Pirro,' former FBI assistant director James Kallstrom told the Fox News host that he thinks "something big is going to happen" with regard to the investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails.

He also says that he suspects internal disagreements within the FBI forced Director Comey to act so suddenly in the final weeks before the election. "I think he couldn?t hold onto it any longer," Kallstrom said. "Because who knows? Maybe the locals would have stepped in on this." By "locals," Kallstrom is referring to the New York branch of the FBI, which is capable of acting relatively independently.

he had to put this out as soon as possible and before the election because if he held off announcing it the backlash would be far worse if she won the election. It would seem that he hid it to influence the election for her. This way if she wins it will not be an excuse of manipulation. If they withhold the contents of the emails any longer and they are proven insignificant it would be pretty bad for him yes.

The problem is that it has been presented in a way that makes it look like there is something incriminating in these emails. I agree that they need to be looked at and an investigation should take place. However, to announce that you are investigating her and these new emails you found 10 days before the election makes it look like there is something bad in them when we have no idea what is in them.

I read this morning that a new poll shows 34% of the voters are less likely to vote for her because of this announcement. If it turns out there is nothing bad in those emails and she loses the election because of his announcement, it could be looked at as him doing something that directly interfered with the election.

The reality is nobody knows what is in them other than those people actually reading and looking into them. You can speculate and assume, but you don't know. I'm not defending Clinton, she is clearly corrupt, but to me this looks like a political move meant to strike back at her for how she was able to get out of the first investigation.

I can see how some people might say if he had not gone public with this information and Clinton gets elected then there turns out to be some damning information in them, it makes him look like he withheld the information to help her get elected. If he does go public, like he did, it makes him look like he is trying to torpedo her campaign. No matter what he did, someone won't be happy.

To me, the proper way to have handled this would have been to keep quiet until they had a chance to look at the email and determine the nature of them. If the election happens before they finish, so be it. If they eventually determine there is a smoking gun in these emails they could go after her no matter if she won the election or not.

As I have said many times, I don't support Clinton, I do think she is corrupt, but to me this just smells like a political game. If the shoe were on the other foot and it was Trump in this situation I'm sure his supporters would be calling for Comey's head.

My understanding is that he wasn't required to tell them, but he chose to because he felt if he didn't and the information about the new emails leaked it would look like he was covering up for Clinton.
