:mad $45,000

Havent been on GFY as of late casue as many of you know Ive been working on details to this new house I bought last week. Taking ALL my fucking time.

After going to the design center for the new house today to pick up and look at "upgrades" the total was $45,000 in fucking upgrades to the new house.

Holy shit.
I was thinking we'd be getting like 10k at the most in upgrades. (cherry floors and Granite.)

Holy fuck. So much for 10k.

If this keeps up I may have to start working again for the first time in 2 years.

What the fuck is going on here?

Hehe, new construction is great but you pay for stuff you otherwise wouldn't. I prefer to let others handle the hassles of upgrades. The house I just bought is 2 years old.

(Did you look into "real" landscaping costs yet? )

Also, have you checked out what your property taxes are? The house we bought we pay about $13k/year in taxes. New construction in the price range would have been ~$30k/year

nah easy solution man!

Just dont let anyone have an account on to submit to your TGP, even if your signup page says to come here and ask for it ...

using this strategy, you can post all your own links and make all the cash for yourself!

Too bad you didnt think of it first, eh?

I told my wife we could settle for Oak Floors, oak cabinets and skip the huge master jet tub and tile and I could buy myself a hummer instead.

I mean shit.
I was fucking serious. 45k in wood tile and granite upgrades?
Fuck that shit.

Just make sure you're gonna live there for a while before you put all this $$ into upgrades. Becuase you won't get most of it back when you go to sell.

We have a fireplace in the Master BR. It's very good to warm the room up quickly when it's a little chilly at night. Ours doesn't go thru the wall to the master bath, but I think I'm gonna get a plasma installed in there (or at least a 22" lcd or something)

Lensman offered to help last year this time when he showed me a home he was gunna buy me and I had to turn down.
The only reason I had to turn it down was becasue it was in Sacremento.

I cant live there.
The warden (wife) wont allow it.

Also companies like LikeWhoa offered similar offers in Places Like NewYork but fuck man, i really am stuck here in Portland. Plus at the time I really wasnt intrested in working for anyone or working in general for that matter.

So instead Im gunna be strapped up here in Portland paying for my own house and coming out of this retired lifestyle

Luckly we already have the driveway squared away with the price in the house.

If we choose to "upgrade" the driveway however it will cost more.

But the standard driveway is just fine.

And we live here in Oregon. Trees are everywhere.
Ill pay 200.00 to get some of them cut.

I think its time for me to throw a simple paysite together and make some extra income.

With all the people I know and my knowlege of what sells an affilate program should help pay my mortage and keep the lifestyle Im used to. Something to think about.

I think April 2003 may be the re-birthing of boneprone.
Now I wish I hadnt sold off some of my sites throughout the year.

We've been redoing our house, which is a pain in the ass, while you're living in it,
as soon as your eyes see the sparkle of premium finishes, and you get hooked on having those features... you're gonna spend money and lots of it

we put cherry floors in our place to match the furniture we have, just purchasing the wood for the entry stairs $150 a tread just for the wood, never mind installing or trim and there were 13 of them

my advice, if you like it, and you're having a house built or whatever, then put it in, if you can manage to close your eyes when you see the bill

45,000 in upgrades? you only got a condo?

The pond our guy has planned is ~5000 gallons. Maybe I need to have him increase it so I can beat you!

Bro I just moved into my new home, yes brand new home. I've spent shit loads of money just buying stuff for shit around the house and upgrades and appliances and furniture.

I've spent over $30K since I moved in and my home still looks 1/2 empty.

haha... have fun. Mine is actually two ponds, two catch pools, about 25 feet of stream and drops 12 feet from the top of the feature to the level of water in the last pond.

When you open the windows in my home it sounds like you're in the woods near a river or like it's raining (like I need that sound where I live).

Wow, that was some wishful thinking, where did you get those numbers?

A granite island 5-k, granited counters another 5-10 k

Hardwood floors?? ur kidding?? 5-8 bucks a square foot for the modest stuff.

Of course you still have carpet left 4-6 a sq foot for good stuff

Crown moulding? $1-3 a foot

french doors?? you dont want to know?? 3-30k

Tile? or marble (imported??) bathrooms, etc.. 4-20 a sq foot

How about cabinet upgrades?? 2-10k depending( raised or recessed) and the wood of course..

round doorways? 1500 on a 3k sq foot home

Fireplace upgrades??(master fireplace, hearth, rock, etc) 1-5k

Kitchen upgrades? skys the limit

interior paint? $1500 min. assuming the house is in the 3000 sq feet range

I will stop here.

Did mention we still have to landscape $$$$$$$ ??

Good luck!

I looked at a couple of places with master bedrooms like that when I was house hunting 6 years ago. I like my privacy when doing the bubbly in da jacuzzi thang. I couldn't see sacrificing that for a few 'romantic fireplace bubblies".
