What similar plugins are missing is a nice looking theme that goes with it. If you ask me, hire a top notch designer to create a kick ass TGP theme and provide it free of charge with the plugin. Watch your sales go up.

ive done something like that, but without the plugin, just in a theme with made galleries.

the theme could be adapted though to your plugin

Actually WordPress galleries (I mean the standard ones made via API) can not work with hotlinked images. All images must be downloaded and stored at your host.

there are hotlinked pics and script make thumbnail from this pics, but when you import a galleries you can use a feature that all the thumbnails will be downloaded into Wordpress.

So the actual full sized images are not downloaded into the Wordpress Media Library ?

Sorry but that's just impossible. The thumbnails can not be added to the WordPress Image Library w/o their full-sized versions. If you simple delete the full-sized image, the featured image will disappear from the site.

you are screwed if they images are taken down then, which sucks, you will have a gallery with 404's
