i cant believe knowone has metioned either Sig Sauer or Beretta..i would say for the money 2 of the best automatics made...ive shot colt,tarus,HK,browning,s&w,lamas,Uzi,coke dope and speed..
and for my tastes:

sig sauer p228 | Berreta92FS and the prize 30cal M1 Carbine..among others..is the best and most efficient ive shot..

I would think something with an open hammer would be the best bet. Atleast if somehow the trigger should jam you could atleast get off one shot by droping the hammer.
