Wanna protest? Great, let's PROTEST

I am holding a protest rally today in my home. As far as I know, there are hundreds-of-thousands, if not millions of others around the world doing the same thing. We are protesting the fact that the Hussein regime has not given up peacefully, that Saddam and his crew of oppressionist monsters have not relinquished their choke-hold on the people of Iraq, and that his soldiers have not put down their arms and allowed the coalition to set Iraq up with a whole new way of living. This protest also includes support for what the US-led coalition is trying to accomplish over there, and the means used to achieve that goal.

There will be no blocking of traffic.

There will be no signs sporting swear words.

There will be no empty regurgitated chants or platitudes.

There will be no retards defying cops and throwing rocks.

No private or public property will be dammaged.

Why?
Simply put, because most people who support the forced removal of Saddam (IE... war) themselves are peaceful people who would love nothing more than to have all hostilities in the world cease. We are peaceful, yes, but neither are we so deluded as to think that there is nothing in the world worth fighting against to preserve peace.

Peace is not always the best answer when faced with tyranny, but it is always the ultimate goal.

Won't you join me in this peaceful yet worthy protest?

This protest will continue until that goal has been reached, after which there will follow a short yet intense celebration.

Thank you.

I've often wished I had the capacity to delude myself into believing that in order to be peaceful we must invade any country we don't like.

It would make things so much easier.

Can you give me some tips on how to achieve this exalted state of self deceptive consciousness? Do you use self-hypnosis? Tapes? Mantra's? Tell me your secret.

The best way to promote peace is to loot. Just ask our friends in San Francisco.

By the way, I know of many "support the troops" rallies going on this weekend. I can assure you, there will be no hateful screaming. But there will be chanting. These rallies will not get widespread media coverage. But they are happening. And they are large.

i find protests to be so incredibly pointless. are the protesters so deluded as to think that bush will turn around and say "look at all those protestors... wow... ok, pull our troops out of iraq!"

the majority of protestors are there for fun/excitement/vandalism. i read an article yesterday about people who flew to iraq to act as human shields. 99% of them ran to Jordan once they realized that their asses would be blown up. now they're broke and stranded in Jordan and many admitted they were just thrill-seekers.

wasn't stating someone is an idiot for being against war in general. but particularly on this messageboard most of the people against THIS war are very ignorant about it, hence the idiot comment.

i just don't understand how people can be SO against it when we all know saddam has killed a countless number of people, and its the usa that is looked upon as the evil tyrant. like i said in a countless number of other threads, innocent people will die in a war... but its better that innocent people die in the name of a good cause for a better life, rather than people dieing from a dictator (close to a million).

i wish there would be a more peaceful approach about it, saddam wouldn't even allow a simple weapons inspection to conduct accordingly, let alone he let us "peacefully" rid iraq of him.

Count me in.

As for difference of opinion, the majority of the protesters are anti everything. The war has little to do with it.

What about this
1953: U.S. overthrows Prime Minister Mossadeq of Iran. U.S. installs Shah as dictator.

1954: U.S. overthrows democratically-elected President Arbenz of Guatemala. 200,000 civilians killed.

September 11, 1973: U.S. stages coup in Chile. Democratically elected president Salvador Allende assassinated. Dictator Augusto Pinochet installed. 5,000 Chileans murdered.

.............
There's a lot of "evil dictator tyran" everywhere....
Most of the anti-war knows that Sadam is evil etc... They're just wondering...why HIM in particular....

ok, IF that is true then thats a bitch. but i still don't think its a legitament excuse to be against this war. there is more good that'll come out of it opposed to not doing anything at all. think of it this way, innocent people die for a brief amount of time, or innocent people continue to die until iraq undergoes some sort of significant change, ie saddam's death. logically looking at the history of iraq while saddam has been in power, that is how it will go.

and WHY saddam particularly? maybe its about control, maybe its about oil. whether or not it is about oil who gives a shit? we're the ones stepping up taking initiative, should be ours anyways.

At least you can admit it, most of the people just deny this fact...

Anyway, i'm not that much of an anti-war myself... just trying to see both side of this issue....

c'mon, counter what i said. explain a legit reason as to why this war shouldn't take place. "BECAUSE INNOCENT PEOPLE WILL DIE" doesn't cut it.

Isnt it up to you to prove why this war should happen?

The moral and safety issue is obviously false, so think hard.

No point.

Can't extract water from a rock,

Chile: it's false
Nicaragua: false
Cuba: false
Panama: false
Guatemala : false
Iran: false
Venezuela ( 6 weeks ago): false

Take a look here: this is an organisation, a "think tank" of the US. Like Bush said: " this is a first step to a global policy in the middle-east".
This is US GOV. paid by all US taxes:

I said the moral issue is bunk. If we are gonna start policing the world and invading everyone who fucks up their own people, we are gonna be very busy for a very long time.

Stop wasting my time cd.

Stop wasting my time cd.
A) Iraq had been ordered by the UN to PROVE they got rid of their anthrax, poisin gas, etc. that they were known to have. So far they have said we destroyed it, just trust us. We can't prove it but you can take our word for it.

B) Hussein pays every suicide bomber's family $25,000. This is well documented.

C) Al Qaida has issued a statement of support for Hussein and he has done the same for them. I'm too lazy to find the links but it was an official announcement from the Iraqi leader so it shouldn't be hard to find on the net.

D) The UN had approximately 130 people in Iraq to search an ENTIRE country. Saddam had millions of people watching their every move. Is it all that surprising they didn't find much?

E) Iraq has repeatedly fired on US jets enforcing the no fly zone in direct violation of UN resolutions.

F) There have been 16 previous UN resolutions against Iraq and Hussein has never lived up to the terms of a single one of them.

G) 8 European countries (UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Denmark) (now 46 countries total) are in complete support of US action against Iraq.

H) People who believe the war is about oil need to look at who is opposing the war. France, Russia, and Germany are major importers of Iraqi oil, not the US.

I) For some people the only "proof" that will be acceptable is if we can find a picture of Saddam loading a canister with Anthrax.

There were only 2 courses of action. Do nothing or deal with the problem before it gets even bigger.

Here's an interesting link for those that like to protest.....

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,81314,00.html

it's to do with who is footing the bills for the costs of most of the larger war protests going on.

Thank you.
Hey...

I protested today. And I will tomorrow.
