The are starting an internet verifier. I talked to CCbill and they told me if that is implemented they will adjust their new scripts

Actually I just got my new scripts in the email and yesterday I registered my Visa with Visa verifier..

I haven't heard anything about the rebill issue. I did however ask my bank about it, I told them I have subscriptions with different online magazines (cough cough) and asked what I would have to do.

They told me that the online subscription magazine (cough cough) will probably send me a link where I have to enter my verifier id in order to continue with them.

I asked, well uhm what happend if I don't do that. They said that my subscription will probably end

My Visa is with Bank of America.. So I dunno if its just my bank or all Visa, but on their site visa.com you can register your card

It's just Verified by Visa, it doesn't change rebills.

This should help cut back on some of the chargebacks from people whos credit card order was "fruad" yet they do not want to wait 10 days for a new card to be sent out.

Bank of America is the only one I know pushing it now. They don't tell you that you lose your ability to charge back by doing it, but they don't force you to do it either.

Verified By Visa and the Mastercard equivalant works by assigning the customer a unique 9-digit PIN code. When they place an order, they enter that code but it's not seen by the site taking the order, only the bank. If the number is confirmed, the order is "verified" and that means they can not issue a chargeback by saying "hey, I didn't make this charge" because Visa rules state if you use that, you acknowledge the card was in your possession (you can still chargeback for non-receipt of goods).

Since the customer has to manually enter in a number that the merchant never sees, you can't do automatic rebills.

If a customer insists on a chargeback, the bank that approved the order eats the charge and chargeback fees, NOT the merchant.
