Do Europeans buy porn in Euros or Dollars?
Do Europeans really care if a site is in US dollars?
Or, would they prefer to purchase a site that displays a Euro price and accepts Euro's for familiarity? I always thought, example: if I lived Germany, and went online, I would prefer to buy a site in Euros because that is what I use in my regular life and I would feel safe doing so. Are Europeans open to buying adult sites that are in dollars, with their Euro Visa cards and it doesn't bother them or hinder a sale? |

European (EU) buyers prefer websites where they are not charged VAT Tax (20%+-)
![]() Porn isn't FOREX so it is best to price your goods in the buyer's 'home' currency -- he understands that value. Sellers by user IP, or the payment processors for sellers by the credit card used issuing bank location, just convert the purchase price to buyers' currencies. Dollars are not that cheap today -- the Euro value against the US Dollar has fallen from $1.40 to $1.13 or so +- in the past year. |

Yes that VAT thing is pretty stupid. When you are in EU and buying service in other EU country +20% will be added (varies per country), but if you set your country out of EU you don't need to pay that added VAT lol

1) The website in French, Euro currency, processor in Europe, outside France. 2) The website in French, USD currency, processor in USA. 3) The website in English, Euro currency, processor in Europe, outside France. 4) The website in English, USD currency, processor in USA. Thanks for your advice. I think #2 might be cheapest best option? But not sure what a Euro buyer would really prefer? |

Not really;
https://www.binlist.net/ The BIN number of the bank that issued the buyer's credit card determines if any, or how much, VAT is charged as well as the taxable nature of that transaction. |

@LovinNothin
It depends on your location and what you are selling. Digital downloads must be automated -- generally purchased with minimal human intervention. Hard goods (physical goods) are taxable. Software (C2C) is taxable and business users claiming exemption have to supply a VAT certificate to the seller. Webcam shows are human interactive entertainment -- and exempted. Digital downloads like videos from a CMS that a customer interfaces with a computer automated program are taxed within the EU. The buyer in the EU would like to skate on the VAT tax not paying the extra 20% or so ![]() |
