Any designers here using LCD's?
I'm thinking about going from my NEC FE950+ (CRT) monitor to a 17" LCD.
I'm a designer, and I've heard reports that using an LCD isn't good for graphic design. Btw, I'm looking for a good LCD monitor under $450 that has a good contrast ratio, good colors, and crisp text. Ghosting in games isn't a major deciding factor for me. Post your model of your LCD. |

I think for designer is CRT better...
Look at LCD and CRT and compare it... On LCD looks colors another, but I didn't use new LCDs.. I used only older type of LCD... btw. I recommend EIZO! |

Hi Geoff,
Half of our designers have LCD's - we get them when we can afford them ![]() If you design for 40 hours a week, your eyes will hurting from spending too much time infront of a computer.. I know mine do! So if you're planning to spend a lot of time designing, I reccomend you do get one, I'm on one now, and once you have one you can never go back to the shitty dull regular monitors Hope my 2 cents is useful to you Andrew

I do most of my own design work on a 18" Dell LCD. Agree with BDS, if yer gonna be looking at a monitor 40+ hours a week, LCD rules.
