Photoshop Gurus: Slices question
Hey all,
I know Photoshop 4.0 inside and out, but i just bought Photoshop 7.0 and I am completely stuck on a Slices situation. I have a template that I created and I selected the exact slices that I want Photoshop to save. I'll create the HTML to render my page; I don't rely on Photoshop to do that for me since I want to do some tricky repeating background stuff with some of the slices. The problem is that I created about 6 slices, but Photoshop auto-created about 15 more slices (it filled in some unused spaces with slices based on the geometry of my image). The ones I created are designated in a blue color, and the ones it created are in grey. Cool, so at least the program knows which ones I created and which ones it auto-generated. But I want to save ONLY the ones that I created (they're all on the same layer, but that shouldn't matter). How in the hell do I do that??? I can get ImageReady to save every slice as an image, but that includes all the auto-generated ones as well as the ones I created, and that's a management nightmare. I just want to only save the slices that *I* created as .gif files; again, I'll do the HTML for them. How do I save only those? Thanks in advance. |

Im no Photoshop Guru but...
I *think* if you highlight a slice in Image Ready its possible to save that alone. If not, i beleive if you right click on the slice you can give it its own name before saving. Sorry i couldnt be much use lol Regards, Lee |

go to ulead.com and download smartsaver.... its easy to do slices like you want, much easier than explaining how to do it for PS7

Are you saying that there *is* a way to save just the slices that I created (just using PS7)? If there is a way to do that, I'll do the homework; I'd just like to know if I'm researching down a dead-end path. Thanks for your feedback. |

1.) Choose "File -> Save For Web"
2.) Hold down SHIFT and select the slices you want to save 3.) Press "Save" and choose "Images Only" at the FILE FORMAT option, then select "Selected slices" in the SLICES option 4.)Press save again and photoshop will save your selected slices in a folder named 'images'
