I would speculate the opposite - he is using it to show how bad and evil whitey were, installing white guilt emotion. I speculate this based on the common knowledge that he is a libby. And also based on Lincoln letter installment at the end.

You reviewed some comedy movie about some black kid and at the end of that movie was "what if I was white" libby ending which you did not like.
Watching the ending of H8 I thought you would not like it as well :)

I watched it when it came out and like it a lot. it is a typical QT film. Lots of profanity, blood and guts. The story had a real arc as well.

I do agree it was ott, I 'got it' with how bad it was at the time, he belabored the point he was obviously making. Can't agree that taking that out would have made the movie any less of the escapism it patently is. It's QT - no matter how 'new' and 'fresh' he was at any time, he isn't anything other than an entertainer... and he does that pretty well.
