U.S. is outside of Baghdad and intelligence reports are that the fucker Hussein, who is beloved by so many on this board, has a red line drawn around Baghdad and when the Americans cross it the Republican Guard will unleash the chemical weapons.

Fucking amazing that there is anybody who thinks this is an unjust war - he is a butcher, a madman, a danger to the entire world.

I don't doubt it....the guy is a maniac....but I just wanted to correct you in that it isn't 'for sure'...it is still speculation. (based on good information I'm sure....but speculation none the less)....

No proof saddam has thoose chemical weapons yet though.. its all guesses and speculation.

The options as I see them:

1) Saddam got them but doesn't use them, U.S. will get alot of political points since that's what they've been saying all along.

2) Saddam Doesn't got them... U.S. will look pretty bad since that's one of the reasons they attacked iraq in the first place.

3) Saddam got them + uses them, bad for U.S. cause soldiers will die ... but it will be bad for saddam too cause now the world will know he has been lying .. france and russia will prob. be more supportive of the war then before etc. And maybe very bad for the iraqi soldiers / civilians if U.S. decide to retaliate with their own chemical .. or even nuclear weapons.

... war sucks.

well, if it was not a staged photo, yesterday i saw images of an iraqi foxhole that contained 2 dead iraqis, and amongst their limited supplies, each guy had a gas mask.

now, if the photo was not staged by Americans---and i suspect it was not, then a natural conclusion is that the iraqis DO have chemical weapons if they are issuing gas masks to their own troops.

perhaps the question is if saddam gives a fuck. and with the other rather limited military budget, would this be factored in?

why spend money on gas masks when you can spend money on US/british military uniforms?

It would be more than a little strange for the US to fight Saddam with chemical weapons, given our justifications for this war. As such, I think it makes ZERO sense for Saddam to equip his soldiers with gas masks, unless it is his own weapons he is worried about. Then again, so far almost everything he has done makes zero sense, so...

We've already warned Saddam, that if he goes chemical / bio we go chemical / bio / or nuclear.

We have low yield tactical mini-nukes already over there and ready to launch.

It'll be quite a bonfire and make that opening A day look like a mere marshmellow roast in comparison.

So if you see the Coalition troops don their spacesuits, you can bet it's all just an elaborate scam by Bush to frame Saddam. I

I agree and the last thing anyone wants to see is a mushroom cloud over Baghdad. But if the chems start taking out massive amounts of US and British troops, there will be no alternative at that point. Mini Nukes are tailored for a potent display of nuclear power, but on a much smaller scale than the high yield bombs.

The current mini nuke in the US arsenal is the B61-11 nuclear bomb with a low yield of 0.3-300 kiloton yield range. From a 40,000 foot deployment it will penetrate 20 feet underground before exploding thus minimizing the gama radiation field to an area that would result in collateral human fatalities to only 10,000 to 50,000 people.

Not sure I can agree with that, we won't be using CW's, the simple answer, which is always the best is that Suddam plans on using them, most the front or beginning captures don't seem to be showing gas masks.

He knows he is going down - with or without using chem/bio.
He doesn't care much about anything but staying in power. Most speculants say he will use it IF he is cornered and falling. I personally have no idea how much of it, if at all will be used by his people. Keep in mind that its not Saddam personally pulling the trigger.
Unlike the Curds - Iraqi soldiers realize this time the enemy they are required to shoot chem weapons is COMING at them this time. It makes it harder to execute.

Agreed. If he unleashes Chemical Weapons on the US/UK Troops, he is also unleashing them onto his own people. The entire world with the exception of a few radical countries (one named Blu Solutions) would be all over Saddam. I think he's just looney enough to do it too.

That is totally untrue. I went through NBC training... it's one thing to face a gun but it's another to face chemical and biological weapons.... that's some scary shit.

And it's not easy to fight in a gas mask and your protective gear.
