I agree and the last thing anyone wants to see is a mushroom cloud over Baghdad. But if the chems start taking out massive amounts of US and British troops, there will be no alternative at that point. Mini Nukes are tailored for a potent display of nuclear power, but on a much smaller scale than the high yield bombs.
The current mini nuke in the US arsenal is the B61-11 nuclear bomb with a low yield of 0.3-300 kiloton yield range. From a 40,000 foot deployment it will penetrate 20 feet underground before exploding thus minimizing the gama radiation field to an area that would result in collateral human fatalities to only 10,000 to 50,000 people.
