I think it's all a bit silly, not that I really have extreme views on anything, but even outside of business, I can't imagine not being able to sit down and have a beer with anyone I've argued with on GFY..

To say you wouldn't do business with someone over their political/war opinions is cool, I'll give ya that.
But to say that you can't make decisions about doing business with a person because of his posts on GFY *at all* is dangerous.

We've seen CEOs of 3rd party processors on here calling people idiots over business issues and threatening them.
We've seen sponsors lay open an affiliate who had a question and asked it in a polite manner (no, I'm not meaning the ones who come on here starting shit and deserve the response).
And so much other shit...

When you're talking politics or bullshitting around, it's one thing. But when you're representing your business and you act like a flaming asshole, you'd better believe I'm going to make business decisions over that. My business is too important to deal with people who would rather throw insults than act professionally and work towards a mutual resolution when a problem comes up.

In the poll thread I was just trying to find out what people thought. I really don't see why so many people have a problem with that.

Maybe they don't like seeing that a significant minority of GFY'ers are so against the war that they are hoping things do not go well for the US in Iraq? Maybe they'd rather just bury their heads in the sand and pretend these views aren't as prevalent as they are?

This is a case of 'kill the messenger' I'm afraid.

If you're intent was simply to assess people's feelings, fine, but you chose a strange way to ask. The way you phrased the question, it sounded to like you were hoping for high casualties.
