only mentioned by the US/UK I donīt hear that being mentioned by those countries themselfes. Also the US/UK also count countries that send humanitarian aid as countries that support the war......the 46 is a VERY misleading number to say the least DynaMite |

As far as I am aware, the US-UK-Australia-Poland have committed troops but their may be a couple of others. I know that Spain supports this war, but I am not aware if they have committed troops, with you living in Spain maybe you can answer this. |

I was editing as you posted. Maybe you will respond. |
Hmmm.. I remember this post. So, are you still sure the US will control the country in less than 10 days? Are you?? Because I'm laughing at you as I type :1orglaugh

Better is to say the Spanish Prime minister supports the war due to the obvious economic benefits they will gain by giving support. The parlement is against and recent polls show 95% of the Spanish people are against the war aswel...Iīm dutch so I donīt count :winkwink: DynaMite |

United Left deputies hold anti war banners as Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar addresses the Spanish Parliament in Madrid, March 26, 2003. The U.S. military said on Wednesday its seven-day air and land assault on Iraq was "on plan" to overthrow President Saddam Hussein and rid Iraq of alleged weapons of mass destruction. The banners (L to R) read in Spanish, "Seventh Day of War", "1,000 Dead", "5,000 Wounded", "400,000 Refugees" http://www.ibillsucks.info/files/spain2.jpg Students protest during a demonstration in central Seville, Spain, March 26, 2003. Thousands of student demonstrators massed in central Seville as part of a series of protests in cities across the Spain on Wednesday, to put pressure on Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar's government over the Iraqi conflict. |

Students opposing the war with Iraq pretend to bury a man doing a fascist salute, with an American flag and a poster reading "Democracy" inside a coffin, during a rally that drew thousands of protesters in Madrid March 26, 2003. Reuters witnesses in Baghdad counted at least 15 scorched corpses after bomb and missile strikes intensified on Wednesday Theking: you really need to bump your own threads twice? |

I wonder how many armchair generals and ex war vets are playing GI Joe versions of this conflict on the living room floor as we speak..

Restores my faith in the UN. |

At least the inspectors were actually working, and some progress seemed to take place There was no immediate threat But most of the world, is of course, wrong, because the Great Leader Mr. Bush knows what is right and wrong here |
Quote:
The first TWELVE years the inspectors didn't get anything done. THey were misled, they were threatened, they were impeded. Why do you think now the inspectors would suddenly be allowed to...ehh..inspect stuff? |
Quote:
Saddam destroyed dozens of Al Samoud missiles already (just one example that comes to mind) Disarmament of Iraq is not the real reason of this war and you know it deep down inside. Also, if we consider UN as a jury in case Saddam vs. World, then minority of that jury, USA and UK plus the puppet countries took the law in their own hands and we will see the results. We will see. Trust me |
Quote:
12 years and 3 months? The inspectors gained results over the last weeks of the inspection.....that is a hard fact. I donīt say they would have been able to solve it or that war could have been prevented. But why not wait 3 more months.....and if no result would have been achieved the UN would have approved a next resolution. There was no inmediate threat to the US and as everyone could see on top of all the lifes that already have been lost there are huge numbers going to be added at this very moment. Yes Saddam is a brutal dictator but the 12 years of sanctions have not added to the situation aswell. There was never any real to handle the situation.....so why on earth all the rush now? DynaMite :2 cents: |

The disarming of Iraq should have taken 1 to 2 years at most. *shrugs* You guys can blame the evil US all you want. The FACT is, there is only one person responsible for this, and that is Saddam himself. If he had done what he was supposed to years ago, this wouldn't be happening now, would it? |
Quote:
What the UN did is nothing more than teach Saddam that he could dick them around and nothing would happen. Give a little when the pressure is on, then back off and start it all over again. Why does it take 12 years to disarm? But blaming Saddam for the situation he is in would not be as much fun as blaming the evil Americans would it? |
Quote:
"We must destroy Iraq to save it/liberate it". Not only would be it be STUPID to use nukes in Iraq militarily,(radiation affects even occupation troops!) but you can almost guarantee a total war between the U.S. and all moslem nations! |
Quote:
b.t.w. that it took 12 years to achieve something is of course rediculous. But as the US/UK/ES are members of the UN they havenīt been pushing that hard either over the past 12 years. The last weeks progress WAS achieved and why all of sudden rage war at that moment? Iīm not blaiming evil americans Iīm blaiming all the governments that support the war for bypassing the UN of which they all are members. Because I dissagree with the actions of these goverments does not imply that I "Hate" the people of those countries. I guess thatīs always the most easy thing to say in a discussion. To have difference opinions does not make either of us bad persons. There are probably more subjects that we agree on than things we dissagree on. But hey if in your opinion that makes me a US hater then so be it........again I will dissagree :winkwink: DynaMite :thumbsup |
Some of you might not have seen this yet. It's unconfirmed, but it came to me in an email..........
Subject: C. Powell Quote "When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush. He answered by saying that, "Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return." It became very quiet in the room." Gotta love the quick mind of that Colin Powell. :thumbsup |
