See you HAVE taken steps to guard your family and property just not in the way I would have. I have 100% control over my handgun, with dogs not so much. But none the less good job! My best friend took the same approach.

I do hope like hell you and yours never are faced with crime. Remember though criminals go where the good shit is.

"Twenty-six percent of Americans say they or another member of their household were the victim of some type of property or physical crime in the last 12 months, ranging from theft to sexual assault"

"An estimated 3.7 million household burglaries occurred each year on average from 2003 to 2007.
In about 28% of these burglaries, a household member was present during the burglary.
In 7% of all household burglaries, a household member experienced some form of violent victimization"

.

See? You're scaring yourself again. Did you also come across the stats that 47% of all break-ins were done by someone the homeowner knew? Also included in your stats are thefts from garages and thefts from the outside of a property.

But lets breakdown your stats. 28% of all burglaries were done when someone was home (that number seems high but I'll take your word for it), thats the big concern, right? If you're not home obviously a gun does no good either way. So 28% of the 3.7 million households that are burglarized every year comes out to 1,036,000 households per year. There are over 120 million households in the US, so that means you have a .0086 percent chance of being burglarized while being home and thats across the board. If you live in the ghetto your chances are a little higher, if you live in a better area they are less than that. And this is your big concern?? This is your idea of inevitable? You're wasting a lot of energy worrying about something that has a less than 1% chance of happening.

And no, I don't have dogs to protect against break-ins, that's just one perk of having dogs. I didnt raise my dogs to be pissed off aggressive, but I know them well enough to know they would rip the shit out of anyone that broke in. If someone breaks in while no one is here (including my dogs) I have insurance. Thats what its for and guns will do no good in that situation anyway.

More family members are shot by other family members with guns in the house than burglars are, think about that one.

Give up dude. Why do you keep trying to paint me as a scared pussy? Just because I own a gun? Does it make you somehow feel superior? The stats are from the Justice Department but you can be condescending if it makes you feel taller.

I'm sure your house pets will warn you if a problem arises. Then it's up to you. Good luck.

I'm just reading this and not wanting to get in any debate.

But I have to ask: Why are you reading your neighbors FaceBook page?
I've lived in my current home for 7 years and I have no idea what my neighbors Facebook pages are...hell, I only know one of their names.

Just caught my eye in your post and I thought it was a very strange thing.

An America without guns is scary. The chance of a dictatorship would destroy the world. If you don't get why this was put into the constitution you have 0 hope.

PS i dont even like guns. But i understand the extreme importance of why a society like the USA needs them.
Very Well Said...

The Safety Sally's on this board can't come to grips with the reality of Ongoing History and will NEVER get it until it affects them directly; When the black boots kick in their door

Probably the same reason you insist on painting me as a cop hater. You saying its 'inevitable' that something will happen when its not based on any type of reality means you are basing that statement out of fear. If I was saying it's inevitable a cop will shoot you down one day your basis of labeling me as a cop hater would be accurate, but I have never said anything to the likes.

Hmmm...I don't know, maybe had something to do with the fact that he's outside at 6AM shooting a shotgun 50 yards from where my kid sleeps?

Cop hater? Never said that. Never said I liked cops either. I have only questioned why you automatically take the side of anyone, usually a lifetime felon, doing something real stupid like resisting arrest.

I'll bet you have theft insurance, fire ins, life ins, wear a seatbelt, diversified investments, etc ... all sorts of "what if" planning ahead behavior. But planning ahead for crime makes me worthy of your ridicule?

You're a hard guy to figure out.

Yes you do hate cops because of how they respond when resisting arrest idiots escalate the situation. Or do you hate them for other reasons?

again, nice avoidance of the real subject, troll extraordinaire.

Take care.

Did you talk to him about that? Or notify the authorities?
