Which part of my laptop is screwed hdd, ram, wifi?
Strange issue downloading files - all files corrupt. download via network cable = all files are fine download via wifi = corrupt other machines in house downloading fine on wifi tried brand new usb wifi adapter = files still corrupt Anyone have any ideas on this? ------------------ one clue maybe that when the file has stopped downloading in the browser it seems to take ages before the file is ready to use. It just sits there in chrome with the green spinning wheel for like 30-60 seconds? only does that with wifi not network cable. Could that indicate ram issue? |

				 | Have you tried a different browser? You mentioned specifically a goofy Chrome issue. Try Firefox and see what happens.

				 | Seems more like a Firewall issue or other security related program: I would almost guess your wifi connection gets treated as "public network" and therby not trusted while your cable network gets treated as "Home" or "Office" network and thereby have more things allowed from the start.

				 | If pages load properly on the laptop wifi but the issues is only with files ... but files download to completion if you use an Ethernet cable ... take the laptop close to the wifi modem or hotspot being used and try it ... see what happens .. connectivity to complete the download maybe? |

				 | You are welcome. I used to run an IT department with 12 employeesbefore. Have gotten countless of similar, un-explainable, issues presented to me over the years.
