What exactly is "Specific" about what Bush said? Nothing. Nobody on that stage had time to say anything specific. Rand Paul even pointed out that he's the only one in the race that has actually mapped out a 5 year plan. Only Trump is being held to this kind of standard because the Republican Party wants him out (they can't control him). Show me any SPECIFICITY that was displayed by any of these candidates on the campaign trail. There isn't any. And there NEVER is when people are campaigning. You don't win votes by boring people with minutia. You win by laying out your general idea. It would be like you going in to do a sales pitch. You don't spend hours explaining every detail. You lay out the general plan. Paint with broad strokes. Having said all of that...I see Huckabee as scary. He's charming as hell and knows how to work the camera. And is a religious nut who I hope never becomes President. Matter of fact, every politician that has ever babbled about Jesus Christ (which would be all of them on that stage tonight except Trump) should instantly be shunned politically. Why on Earth would any of us want people who profess to believe in superstitious nonsense as our President? |

It's a goddamn joke, but it's not funny anymore. We need to "strengthen our military"? Really? Well maybe we do with some of the comments about restarting the Cold War that I heard tonight. |

Trump didn't stand out for anything but maybe for people whom go to movies to see big explosions.. |

I am sorry but the last Republican president got us into two wars AND destroyed our economy, bringing us to what was clearly the lowest point during our lifetime and dragged the entire world down with it. Compare the last six years of Obama to Bush's eight years and you tell me who did better? |
heads-up crockett, you chicken fucker, Trump won that debate. and here's another heads-up, as i predicted months ago- Hillary is done. kaput. and another heads-up, when was the last time dems had the white house 3 terms in a row? not counting roosevelt giving himeself his 3rd term? it was like 140 years ago.
|
Well, I'm not a registered Republican so I can't vote in the primaries.
But to the people who are Republicans: crockett wants Bush to win. That should tell you all you need to know about who NOT to vote for as a Republican. crockett hates the Republican Party. So if the enemy of your party tries to give you advice and you take it...then you're a fool. The only advice I'd take from crockett politically would be which Democrat to vote for. |

Think about it, what did you learn about his positions from watching that debate, that you didn't already know from seeing the news the last 6 weeks? This was his chance to show he has more than just talk, but instead he really offered up nothing new, just same stuff he's been saying. Which in reality he has nothing of substance to back up any of his talk.. |

give it up crockett, your bias against ANY republican you've made very clear already. you've already admitted you do not have an open mind re: the next president. in your tiny world, it simply must be a dem, any dem, pick a dem.
|
The US lives and dies based on the economy. Which person up there tonight has ever earned big money on his own? 2-3?
To bad the position of Vice-President is for losers and not a very productive member of the circle making decisions. A couple of guys up there would make great Vice-Presidents in charge of portions of the overall job. |
i mean really crockett, why did you even tune in to this debate? you are clearly on the record hating every single fucking republican on the planet and you've confessed yourself, you are here at teh gfy to troll conservatives and to that end, you, with rochard, chased away minte, an old school porner who happened to be a conservative.
so really. gofuckyourself. |

See? I didnt need to watch the debate.
I've learned all I needed to know right here. I've learned two import things tonight in this thread: 1. Trump killed it. 2. Crockett is a chicken fucker. Goodnight :) |
Trump clearly won tonight. Look at the polls right now post debate on who people think performed best.

You could switch "Bush" for "Trump" or "Rubio" for "Trump" or any of the candidates in the "debate" and your statement above would still hold true. But only Trump is held to this double standard. |
crockett decided long before the debate that Trump would suck. ahah, wrong again.

He already has won his base support, he needed to stand out with details about how he plans to do things.. Now just skate by with cookie cutter answers.. |

Trump killed it first half faded second half.
Overall i liked John Kasich tonight :2 cents: Fox for sure does not like Trump lol |

Those answers that Trump is giving are the very reason that people like him. Because they are NOT "cookie cutter" politician double talk. I have to say crockett, that you can't even allow yourself to see that is just amazing. I don't think you can even see just how biased you really are. You're never going to vote for Trump. Neither am I. But the difference is...I am smart enough to see WHY people are drawn to him. And all you can do is keep on attacking with partisan bias. People are just sick and fucking tired of being lied to. And look what all these "experienced" politicians have done to our country over the last 60 years or so. Those politicians are nothing special. They aren't the smartest. They aren't the brightest. There is no mystery to running the govt. What every politician we have in office is, is a bureaucrat who found a gravy train. And people are sick and tired of feeling fucked by the system. That's why Trump is popular. People feel that he doesn't have to answer to the party bosses. Why do you think that Fox News (whom you HATE) and the Koch Brothers (whom you HATE) are so against Trump? Because of their genuine concern for the country? (which you have stated over and over that they have none) Hell no crockett. It's because they can't control him. And as a liberal person...that should make you cheer for what he's doing. He's shaking the foundation of the 2 party system. Instead...you just do the usual "team sport" song and dance. Come on man! You claim to be "progressive" right? Then stop living in the past with the old Democrat/Republican fantasyland. |

Not True.. For instance I was suprised Bush came out against tje Iraq war. I was also suprised he came out about not being in favor of ending common core like almost every other candidate is. Granted I don't keep up with Huckabee, but I was suprised he stood by and went against the grain on entitlements.. I had hoped for more out of Rand Paul but he seemed to fizzle out and he ends any chances with me over the common core support. Trump was not held to any double standard.. It's what people expect of him. He has zero political experance and has yet to show how he will translate his business experance into political. I mean Jesus Christ he couldn't answer any serious question which was directed at him.. When asked what he got for his money when he gives to candidates.. His big answer was Hillary came to his wedding.. |
Quote:
exfuckingactly. |
How the hell is Bush saying he was against the Iraq war "specific" about anything?
Trump has also said what he wants to do. And in the debate Trump pointed out that he was on record as saying that the war was wrong and was going to be bad for our country for decades to come. So Bush is "specific" when he backpedals an answer he gave on Fox News a few weeks ago...and Trump is not when he clearly said that he was against the war from the beginning and still thinks it's a disaster and even told Jeb that his brother's presidency was a disaster. Jesus crockett...what does Trump have to do to get you to see that he's being discriminated against. |
Quote:
I said he couldn't give any real answers to any serious questions. All he did was play dodge ball everytime he was asked a serious question. You are clearly incredibly biased to trump your savior.. |
you only need look at the opening salvo- raise your hand if you plan to run independent... that set the anti-Trump tone right there. kudos to the crowd for maintaining and not booing Trump when he had the nutsack to back up his comments.
|
Quote:
When Trump was asked personally directed questions, he dodged them.. That's what I'm saying.. Trump is like watching a movie with no plot and just big explosions.. Take away the big explosions and there is nothing.. |

Okay, here's the first poll results I have seen. Just in from Time.Com So far Trump is destroying the competition. As I said crockett, that you can't see WHY he's winning is amazing to me:
-------- The 10 leading Republican presidential candidates took the stage for their first debate Thursday night. Who do you think won? Donald Trump (7114 Votes) 33% Jeb Bush (1647 Votes) 8% Ben Carson (2920 Votes) 14% Chris Christie (846 Votes) 4% Ted Cruz (1039 Votes) 5% Mike Huckabee (778 Votes) 4% John Kasich (2893 Votes) 13% Rand Paul (1213 Votes) 6% Marco Rubio (2671 Votes) 12% Scott Walker (351 Votes) 2% ------- |

nice to see Dr. Carson closer to the top. would like to see Kasich closer to the top. and i am glad to see the koch brother's guy at the bottom. |

Anyway, what he said about political correctness definitely was refreshing. |
