Oh Boy, Looks like AB might just have stolen content

If this site is true to their word (http://facial.adultbouncer.com/) the shit will soon hit the fan..

From what i can tell they have the following studios on there:

Elegant Angel - Not sure if it is licensed
Red Light District - They've been having probs with idiots selling licenses to their DVDS without actually owning the rights.
Legend - 80% Sure they do not have their authorization to use their dvds (will check on this one)

There are more studios but these are the ones i suspect would have NOT authorized their content for use in this way to these guys.

Looks like it should be pretty interesting

Anyways, anyone have an AB membership i can borrow breifly?

1) Legend called me and asked if i was doing anything with AB and other than the fact that some sites may have my feeds and might be in the AB network we do not offer them for downloads like their currently doing..

i DO know that it is extremely hard to get licenses from these Well known, big studios, to rip their DVDS.. Buying them for one website is one thing but using them in an AB type of setup is a different story.

Like i said im almost positive that they dont have the rights to the legend shit but as for the others i cannot say..

Time to make some phone calls today and actually verify it

Check out HostedContent.Com . i got 300 Legend DVDS online, and another 100 encoded sitting offline, and about 400+ i havent encoded yet.

You wouldnt think so because of the copyright infringment.. It greatly depends on where their location is... places like .AU have no copyright on porn, which is why a lot of Porn DVDS get knocked off in .AU and shipped into North America.

If that was the case i highly doubt the owner of Legend LLC would be calling me up asking if i've done any sort of biz with this company.

How about Digital Playground, Metro, they got licenses for that stuff as well?

Im almost tempted to buy a membership and see just what it is they've got in there

.AU is Australia

Are you saying there are no copyrights on porn in Australia?

Maybe because he didnt actually sell them the content and im the only one who is pretty much streaming their stuff. I know for a fact they do not like the idea of their vids being downloaded. I do NOT know all of their dealings and it is quite possible they sold them the license after the fact (phone call).

The only other place i can think of which would have the legend content is AEBN if im wrong and someone is selling licenses for these DVDS i would love to see who it is.

Also, as for the Red light district, Vince is pissed because of his shit getting ripped/knocked off for the web. I thnk it started after he left anabolic.

hehe.. have all of them file a suit against all sites that are 'allegedly' ripping their content and see what the judge says when he is shown the license papers.

Lets try to look at it logically and try to put it into a timeline.

1. Someone sees the legend content on the net
2. That person calls up Legend and says "Hey, did you license this site your content?". This could be asking because they're interested in the content or they want to take out the competition, whatever the reason is they call.
3. The owner says "Hey, wait a second. There are only a couple of people who are legally allowed to have my content on the net. Who did i give permission to to use the content? It cannot be a website license i sold since i have no record of it, and Joe is really the only other one 'leasing' the content to other websites. Lets call him up to see if he knows anything about this."

Note: I do not know if they spoke with AEBN or someone else, but since the AEBN model is different than mine it looks like it is possible that it may have come from me.

4. Legend verifies whether the company has permission or not to use those DVDS/Feeds and takes it from there..

Its basically them getting as much info as possible to be as informed as possible before they go out there and deal with it.

If they do have the papers, and their authentic then it would never make it to court since they're legal.

You need to make your own choice on that. If you had an .AU processor and the actual content was stored on .AU soil then yeah you could.

They have copyrights for mainstream movies but not for porn... go figure.

The reason i know this is because me and a couple people are going for 10+ Million in funding to start a DVD Replication plant in Ontario (DVD REplication and some other stuff). Lots of homework was done on this.

Im not about to go do homework for you but im sure it wouldnt be too hard to confirm.

SoBeGirl knows this about AdultBouncer. At first he saw me as a ripe target. This was wasy back when SobeGirl started. He bought a bunch of shit from me and then posted on his board for his adult webmasters that "he bought all of sobegirl content and he was giving it away to the webmasters using his subdomains for free. This is when I changed my license to state that you can use content on 5 urls and this includes any subdomins too. He "rob" the owner of adult bouncer was sneaky and preteneded he was doing notihng wrong and was trying to take advantage of my newbiness. I threatened him once or twice and he apparently stopped his intention of doing so. I believe that he is not doing that anymore with my content or I would probably hear about it from some of my webmasters. That is what I know about AdultBouncer so be aware.

Bullshit. The DVD industry here is built on buying licenses from overseas productions and replicating them for domestic use. You got conned into staying out of someone's market share.

This doesn't really suprise me, I mean everytime you see a big hotlinker site it's protected by adult bouncer. If they don't mind stealing bandwitdh, stealing content can't be far behind. Come to think about it, this guy deffending them, "m0rph3us", isn't he a big sleazebag who hotlinks movies from isp connections?

You need to make your own choice on that. If you had an .AU processor and the actual content was stored on .AU soil then yeah you could.

They have copyrights for mainstream movies but not for porn... go figure.

even if he was stoned when he told you this information, the fact that we're entering into a free trade deal with the US means we inheret their copyrights regardless of any crazy fantasies, lies or weird loopholes he may have stumbled across.

Bullshit. The DVD industry here is built on buying licenses from overseas productions and replicating them for domestic use. You got conned into staying out of someone's market share.

You're an idiot. I never SAID THERE WAS NO COPYRIGHT LAWS, i said there were no copyright laws for porn

You're right, i've only spoken to a couple of the replication people out there. they are all idiots and are breaking the law.

COPYRIGHTED.

I cannot understand any top notch adult video studio allowing Adult Legal to license their videos to either Adult Bouncer or DeluxePass. Absolute stupidity. Not only do these fuckers in effect sub-license the DVDs out, at no extra cost than what any of you would pay Adult Legal, but then the webmasters affiliates who haven't paid a dime for anything go one step further and have the balls to offer scenes from those DVDs in hosted galleries to promote their own little affiliate programs.

People are taking huge advantage of these video studios because many of the studios really don't understand the Net business. I guarantee you if I speak to the heads of the top 10 video studios in L.A, not one of them will know what 'Hosted Galleries' means. If I said 'AVS' to them, maybe 3 would know what that is.

Do you think Adult Legal watches out for how those DVD licenses are used in the same way a web content provider who produces or pays for his own content to licenses does? No way.
