![]() ![]() the man is a fucking legend, singapore is the safest place in the world, there is virtually no crime...he turned the country around by 180 degrees from an asian heroin shit hole right in to an economic paradise... a personal hero of mine... |

Well I was warned that Singapore is boring, oppressive and has too many rules.
I found none of that to be true...... |

Well how the hell would a leecher type get there?
It's impossible to get residency legally unless you have a work permit, or are married to a Singaporean or else have serious net worth and can pay $millions to open the door. |

Singapore is really a model for new, modern cities I think in so many ways even though this is a relatively small territory. The way its presented and the organisation of it continues always impresses people....

"Singapore is "excessively cleaned, overpriced and over-policed," he says - not that different from his own home town, Beverly Hills in California." Luckily chewing gum is legal without a prescription in BH lol "Since 2004 - as a result of the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement - pharmacists and dentists have also been allowed to sell "therapeutic" gum, to customers with a medical prescription. This includes standard sugar-free gum." Hahaha you can't make this stuff up! |

One of the most corrupt countries in the world. Disgusting how they oppress the people there.
It's called a Democracy but it's a facist state for all intended purposes. The cost of my Mercedes SL500 was around $500K (price if I bought it in the US? around $150K). My road tax was like $5000/year. (not insurance, thats just to have the privilege to drive my car there). The fuckers have another tax called the Carbon Emission-Based Vehicle Scheme (CEVS) which was another $5000 Then they tack on another 14% Premium tax because it's considered a "Premium" vehicle. And after 10 years, this ass clown Lee Kuan Yew and his facist gov't DE Registers your car. Yes you heard right, after 10 years, your $500K car is more or less useless. You either pay additional exorbitant taxes to RE Register it (100K or more) or you have to give it up and get ass raped by these fuckers all over again So a car that costs $175K here in the North America These fuckers screws people into paying almost $700K for the same car there. Here's the kicker, Obama as President of the US makes $400K a year. This ass clown corrupt Lee Kuan Yew's son as Prime Minister makes........$2,183,516 Put this in perspective, It's an island the size of NYC ok? Top 10 Highest Paid Government Leaders The average ministers in parliment makes approx 1.1 million each. Guess screwing people with car prices being triple or quad the value plus helps pays for these corrupt assholes As you can imagine, I sold my house and car and GotTFO while I still could. Don't let the bright lights, and pretty things fool you. The gov't there is no different than Libya's late dictator. They only get away with it through fear, coercion by scaring the people, calling themselves a "guided democracy" lol and being buddies with the US. Ask yourself this, how does 1 party stay in power for 60 years unopposed in every "democratic election" |

Nobody smart is calling Singapore "democratic"
![]() The thing is that people can afford to pay those luxury taxes. Not understandable for your average welfare food stamp state citizen ![]() You work - you prosper, you are lazy - no love and "wealth redistribution" for you. In other words - extreme leftist or libtard would not like their model. |

Imagine any western leader speaking like this:

The GDP per capita in the USA is $54k The GDP per capita in Singapore is almost $80k The Singapore figure is probably around double the UK figure but its a magnet for wealthy people due to tax structures which has pushed prices up. A decent meal in a good restaurant can set you back $80 USD. |

Don't give me the whole GDP capita BS that they feed the media. Most regular Singaporeans are extremely stressed because they are trying to make ends meet for their family. They don't even want to bring children into the world because they don't know if they can afford having children. Don't get me wrong, there are wealthy individuals living in Singapore. My family's estate, there were a ferrari or Lambo in every parking lot in the estate. But trust me, the majority of the population live in "flats" or apartment buildings. Bungalows and more luxurious homes are only a very small part of the population. That bastard's son lived 7 houses away from my family's house. Case and point, about 10 years ago, these ass clowns Lee and his cohorts realized that the population was dwindling because of less "Singaporeans were having less Singaporean babies". Gee I wonder why? Perhaps because you tax the fuck out of your citizens you moron. Anyways, To stimulate population growth, this same ass clown Lee and the gov't encouraged immigration BUT WITH A TWIST. Any immigrant who marries a Singaporean automatically gets a Singapore Citizenship. Talk about devaluing your country's people and making them cheap cattle. Come breed with our people so we can tax your ass and pay my monkey son 2.6 million dollars in salary each year. Why do this? Because internal memos obtained through a secret investigation revealed that the Singapore gov't was worried not about the problem about the dwindling population but it was for taxes. These fuckers were worried about not being able to tax it's citizens so they opened the flood gates for immigration. What happens? Well, as of 2 years ago, Singapore's population now consists of over 51% of non Singapore born individuals. So basically the country's non Singaporeans outnumber true Singaporeans there. Singapore normally consists of Chinese, Malay, Indians, British, Eurasians. That's the normal mix of true Singaporeans. Now that diversity consists of more Thai, Filipinos, Indonesians, and other less than ideal races being migrated into the country. Violent crime, scams and etc... have increased exponentially with the introduction of these races into a very previously safe country. All for what? So Lee and his son and his corrupt gov't can collect more taxes. So am I sorry the founder of my motherland is gone? No, good riddance, wish he would take his son and his PAP gov't with him straight to hell. ps. One more fun fact. You only own your property there for 99 years. After 99 years, your land/house goes back to the gov't. WTF??? |

However, the rules regarding bringing people over for tax purposes doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Wealthy who move to Singapore do so to enjoy the low taxes and many who live there pay a zero rate of income tax. The reason is because tax is territorial there -if your income is derived from outside of Singapore. This is why a lot of wealthy move there with their foreign companies paying them dividends (the non-source results in the zero rate). Most of the wealthy do a lot of tax planning before they consider Singapore and I'm quite sure they pay low taxes because I know many in that situation. The GDP per capita figures are official..... and absolutely straight (compiled by independent sources like the CIA, a US intelligence agency), but you have to understand that you have a small number of people earning very high incomes and the masses earning very low incomes and it averages out to the GDP per capita figure. It is still one of the highest in the world and with good reason. Probably you haven't kept that much in touch with back home since you left and a lot has changed over the years... |

As for flats - not sure what is your negative point there, Singapore is small so naturally land is expensive and naturally most live in flats. Just like Manhattan or Hong Kong. |

More than half a million people - 12% of Singaporean citizens - visited Parliament House to see Mr Lee's coffin, while at least 850,000 others went to community sites to pay tribute.

City/Island states like Luxembourg or Singapore have very different economies than the US or even their own neighbors. You need those mexicans if your going to manufacture or produce anything.
