I always joke that the song for my son is "Dreamer" by Supertramp.

Personally, I think this classic rock song makes the most sense today:

    Vacares rules.

      Great song.

Crime of the Century is their best album IMO.

Tons of classic rock songs from that era make sense, and are going to stand the test of time for a long time to come.

Which is something I can't say for most of today's musical spewage.

I couldn't agree more about the way classic rock basically stands the test of time. A lot of that era's music was new/influential when I was growing up, and then during my time in the music biz in the early 80's, I was really exposed to even more.
90% or more of today's music is garbage.

QFT. Since you were also in the music biz you will appreciate this (hopefully):

In 1987 I interviewed The Bee Gees. They had a comeback hit with 'One'. Anyway I remember Barry saying what he was really worried about was what he termed 'standards'. He said when The Bee Gees were starting out their standard were bands like The Beatles, meaning they had to try and be as good as them (impossible but that was the Goal). Barry said today (1987!!) someone can take out a keyboard, hit a few buttons and what comes out is pretty close to what you hear on the radio. So he was worried that musicians in the future would become lazy and not try to master their instruments (or voices).

                    Wow!

So that has stayed with me all these years when I hear all this auto-tuned shit (hilarious/painful when these "artists" try and sing live) and bands that can barely play four chords.

                    Child Of Vision. LOL

Don't see the need to discuss about rock music, a coming sharia will ban all music.
