DirectNic.Com makes it easy for your domain names to be stolen

Poking around their website i came upon their security settings
and it seems by default, your account is 'Normal Security' and just take a look at what happens in the 'Normal Security' mode.

Transfer Security Settings
High Security - *** Recommended: This will place all domains on lock status. Lock status will prevent any transfers from occurring. You may still transfer your domains, but you will need to first unlock the domains individually using the Domain Registry Status Manager link below.

Normal Security: This will automatically allow the transfer, if
neither of the notification emails is responded to within five days.

Powerpipe.com offers standard "locked" domains.

Sure there is a problem with this. How many people out there dont think to put their domain name on locked mode? To have the registar transfer your domain without so much as a confirmation as to the request is just stupid, imho at least.

I agree. I think they should be locked by default. I mean, imagine, you gon on a week long trip. You get back, and your fuckin' domains are gone. Granted, it'd be pretty bloody stupid not to have your domains locked, but not everybody knows about these kinds of things.

You still have to approve the transfer at normal.
Geez.

High security is an automatic denial.
Normal sends you the request, that you have to authorize.

What's the big fucking deal?

You need to learn how to read my friend.

"Normal Security: This will automatically allow the transfer, if
neither of the notification emails is responded to within five days."

does not sound like

"Normal Security: We will deny all requests unless you approve the transfer"

go check their website and see for yourself.

That is for changing registrars, not ownership.

for changing ownership:
Please note that after the request is submitted, the owner (administrative contact) of each domain to be transferred will receive an email with instructions on how to authorize the transfer. Upon his/her approval, it may take up to one (1) hour for the transfer to be completed.
