New Firefox SUCKS, eats resources and slows down everything. Fix inside.

I used to LOVE Firefox, but lately my computer has been running like shit.

I check my computer's Processes and found that Firefox has been sucking up my CPU usage.

There are many articles on it. But even after deleting all the add-ons it still ate up CPU usage.

Solution: I switched to "Pale Moon" which is a Mozilla based web browser. Looks and feels just like Firefox. Doesn't eat shit in memory usage. My computer now pops and surfs like it was new. Not sure why Firefox is so fucked up now, but Pale Moon is a great fix.

http://www.palemoon.org/

It's got a crappy looking download page, but the browser is almost identical with Firefox.

Been running Pale Moon for several years now and it even runs my favourite Firefox plug ins.

I can definitely recommend it, runs quick even on one of my old systems, an IBM X31 from 2003. Still in use today, after more than 11 years of daily usage. Pale Moon runs great on that system.

It's quite ironic because when FF was first released, it was touted as a lean, mean and quick alternative to the bloated and sluggish IE.

Yeah, we get those as well. We normally run FF with the flash plug-in/add-on de-activated. Never fails if we activate just one page and then leave that page open.

I've been using Seamonkey(*) for several years, was fine until the 2.x branch when they changed to the Firefox "engine." It became very unstable after that.

* Seamonkey was the rebranding/continuation of the original Netscape/Mozilla browser, which FF was derived from.

I still use FF but it's so fucking bloated, always flash problems, eating away CPU usage, what a piece of shit.
When i use IE it's a breath of fresh air, its fast and doesnt use anywhere near the amount of cpu FF does.... looks like the tables have turned.

And I will never use Chrome.

I got Pale Moon the other day just have one issue with it. Hyperlinks have a strike through in the text and its annoying.

Anyone know how to change that? I have checked everything I can think of and can not fix it.

It works pretty well here but I'm on Linux. For the people having problems try (temporarily) uninstalling flash and try it again. Chances are you will no longer see it occur. The problem very often is flash.
