Anyone experience with lasering eye floaters?
It's becoming annoying behind a computer-screen... or maybe i'm just more focussed on it lately.
The technique isn't officially approved yet in the medical world although thousands and thousands of people allready had their floaters lasered. But... i'm a pussy when it comes to medical shit. Anyone here with experience?

I hAve diabetic retinopathy and have had the laser treatment.
I am not sure which procedure you are saying is not approved but both laser techniques I am aware of for treating my situation are. scatter laser and coagulation. You'll want to seek out the best retinopathist in your area and get a full diagnosis of your situation and the doc will advise the best course of action. The laser treatments worked for me. If you have retinopathy you will want to address it sooner rather than later. |

it can manifest as floaters and/or halos and such. Retinopathy is basically blood vessels exploding in the retina. the laser zaps the vessels and seals it up, stopping the leakage. It doesn't make things better but it stops things from getting worse, in that region or vessel.

Not sure where you think floaters are if they are not in the eye. You asked if people had their floaters lasered and I was generous enough to share my personal experience about that very thing, laser surgery to stop the damage that manifests as floaters.
again, have luck with your self-diagnosis. If you are smart you'll stop nitpicking and realize I gave you sound advice- go see a fucking retinopathist (an eye specialist to the uniformed) and get a professional diagnosis. |

I've had laser coagulation due to retinal tears. It doesn't hurt but it's extremely fucking unpleasant. If i had to choose that or a colonscopy, i'll take 3 colonoscopies...
That being said, I do have this floater which is causing a blurry/darker spot in my vision on right eye near the center, and i've got an appointment with optomitrist on wednesday to check it out...might consider this lasering option.

Maybe you could try to watch the screen from further away, it really makes difference. Monitor should be at least hand length away from you. Also changing the monitor brightness to match the environment helps.

I spike my drinks all the time. I do not need blood thinners that way.
Thanks for the info Dyna Mo, I am considering eye treatment also. Now if they can do laser therapy for the nervous system issues I am good to go.
