The analysis by experts has highlighted a number of inconsistencies that could suggest that the beheading of Foley, which was seen on the video, was not his actual death.
Firstly, no blood can be seen, even though the knife is drawn across the neck area at least six times. Secondly, sounds allegedly made by Foley do not appear consistent with what may be expected.
The forensic analysis expert said that no incision could be seen on Foley?s neck, though the right hand of the jihadist partially blocked the shot.

Interesting. I had no interest in ever watching this Video until about a day ago.

I had a friend comments about this tape and its high end production value the other day. He also commented that with what it was actually suppose to be, it would have been rated PG-13 if it were released in the theaters. So i broke down and watched this vid the other day to see if my buddies claims were correct.

I would defiantly have to agree with his production value issues and inconsistencies.

If I were a terrorist and wanted to really drive the "Terror" point home; there would be zero cuts from start to end. Would not have edited out all of the blood and guts.

The two camera angle cuts from cam "A" and cam "B" was not needed needed to show something like this.... Unless you were going to use creative cuts and editing where it would really count.

The early cuts in the vid get you ready to accept the cuts and clever editing at the end of this vid.

Other issues; Where is the harsh lighting from the sun? No harsh shadows around the eyes. Perfect soft lighting on the skin and perfect back ground exposure? NO WAY!!

Did they use an over head defuser and a sun-bounce in the front as a key light??? Front light it with High powered HMIs? Since when are terrorists so picky about high quality production value? Are the shooters trying to get gigs in production? Why not just get a single point and shoot and record the whole thing and post it without clean editing? Whats with the Final Cut transitions and filters? Why cut out all of the blood? Why have it in english with someone who speaks with proper grammar?

Trust me; You cut an Americans head off yelling and screaming "Ala Akbar" in any language that is "not' english, the world will take notice and see the point you are trying to prove. Don't need two camera angles, clean video, clean, lighting, high end production value, to make their point.

Regarding the production values, why would it NOT be done well?

It's not like some lighting, a decent camera and some microphones cost a fortune now. Many of the jihadists are from UK/US/etc, many of them had jobs doing various things. It's not outside the realm of possibility that some of them happened to have experience as a film crew... In fact, the guy supposidely doing the beheading was a rapper - not impossible for him to have access to a film crew that happened to also be into that whole thing....

If it was a conspiracy and fake, why the fuck would they suddenly make this video COMPLETELY different then any other beheading/terrorist clip? It would just draw attention. It's entirely possible they cut out the actual beheading (although i've heard from people that the entire uncut video is online too). The cut version might be there to make it pg13 exactly so less sites remove it and it gets the message across to more people - "I watched it, it's not that bad" opens more people to watch it then "it was fucking insane man, blood everywhere".

I think it's real, and as for the production values - for lack of better words "nothing wrong with having a little pride in your work"...

Why in the fuck are you concerned with production values? Most of the ISIS videos are well produced including their recruitment video that shows plenty of actual blood, guts and people being shot in the head.

I cannot for the life of me comprehend why anyone would think production values would have fuck all to do with whether or not the video was real.

For arguments sake, what would be gained by faking the video? I only come up with negatives. First, you have retaliatory air strikes. Second, you appear weak if he's let go at a later date.

It would be nice if it was fake but I don't see an upside to them doing so.

If the video was too grainy, wehateporn would be in here saying that the CIA purposely made it grainy to suggest it was legitimate.

I don't know what terrorist videos you guys are referring to, but the reality is this is 2014 and most of the world not only has access to decent technology but also knowledge and information. The United Kingdom is suggesting the guy in the video is a 24-year-old Brit, a 24-year-old Brit could absolutely have the knowledge and the capability to produce a good video. Yes, he is the guy in the video, he may not have been producing it, but when there is one 24-year-old Brit there are a handful, if not dozens of other similar people running around.

Let's not forget that ISIS is running shop like a business and they have millions and millions of dollars flowing through their hands. They can afford (and steal) good equipment.

Some of the ideas posted in this thread are suggesting that ISIS are stupid Neanderthals. Yes, they may be barbaric, but the notion that they are stupid is why they are in the position they are right now. These are motivated, dedicated individuals that have more passion for what they believe in than most of us will ever know.

The idea that terrorists can't produce a "good" video is laughable. My seven-year-old sister can put together something decent on her mother's iPhone.

These guys are very, very media savvy and they producing some high end videos. They know they need their videos to reach Youtube or what not.

Let me clarify something; Not knowing what was what and not watching the news at all, I was asked to check this vid out and asked if "I" thought if it was real or if it was made to look like it was real.

I don't generally watch anything that is done by terrorists or anything where people are killed, tortured, murdered, etc. Not my thing, I have zero say on what people do, so I don't watch. But I got asked to look at this vid and give an opinion. Thats it.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I was on a big set yesterday with a big crew. People who light, 3 shooters and others that had production experience. We all checked out this video and were trying to figure out "WHY"?

We came to the conclusion that: Its not a 100% real, but we can't say its 100% fake.

Other theories we as a group discussed: This guy is about to get his head cut off, why is he so calm? We also came to the conclusion that they must have had a bunch of "Takes". This wasn't shot straight through.

Someone also mentioned that he could have defected to the other side, and made this video to further the terrorists agenda.

Its not like we have "not" had people leave the US and join different terrorist organizations and never heard from again. If that was the case, it would explain why Folly was so calm during this video shoot.

The other argument was that the video was made to be put up on youtube, thats why there was no blood. Conclusion: Why not have both versions? A directors cut version.

Like I stated before; Cant 100% say its real and connote say 100% that its fake, but there are a lot of suspicious things pointing that its not real.

Lastly you cannot say with "absolute certainty" that Folly is not chillin out in some cave growing a beard, reading the Koran and praying on a carpet to Allah.

Right now we are following the story of a Japanese guy who converted some years back and is getting passed back and forth between groups. Al Qaeda, IS, etc. He is on the front lines and when one group captures him, usually IS arranges for his safe return.

Odd story actually. He sneaks out of Japan by going to third party country then goes in to Iraq or Syria by land. His friends say he is obsessed, loves the people and their causes. Officials say he is a loon.

When I worked in Muslim world people make very calm and intelligent arguments for their religion and their causes. They were never, ever disrespectful towards Christianity or even Judaism. Unlike the extremists on this board.

When I read the letter Foley supposedly wrote to his mother and sent through a friend who "remembered" it verbatim it all unraveled for me. I realized it was a concoction of someone else, probably foreign intelligence and they are trying to cover up he went over to the other side...is my guess.

When the Ottoman's attacked Vienna in 1387 it was, in my opinion, a normal response to more than 300 years of attacks by "Christian Crusaders" among other things.

The French journalist held hostage with him said the captors routinely did mock executions and filmed it.

It's entirely possible Foley was killed off camera and IS used the footage of one of the mock executions to make it look like they beheaded him on camera. Added shock value, it would also explain why they had to cut the footage.

Every explanation doesn't have to be a fucking conspiracy. You really think with their infinite budget the government could not make a video look perfectly authentic?

Right now we are following the story of a Japanese guy who converted some years back and is getting passed back and forth between groups. Al Qaeda, IS, etc. He is on the front lines and when one group captures him, usually IS arranges for his safe return. Odd story actually. He sneaks out of Japan by going to third party country then goes in to Iraq or Syria by land. His friends say he is obsessed, loves the people and their causes. Officials say he is a loon. When I worked in Muslim world people make very calm and intelligent arguments for their religion and their causes. They were never, ever disrespectful towards Christianity or even Judaism. Unlike the extremists on this board. When I read the letter Foley supposedly wrote to his mother and sent through a friend who "remembered" it verbatim it all unraveled for me. I realized it was a concoction of someone else, probably foreign intelligence and they are trying to cover up he went over to the other side...is my guess. When the Ottoman's attacked Vienna in 1387 it was, in my opinion, a normal response to more than 300 years of attacks by "Christian Crusaders" among other things. It's entirely possible Foley was killed off camera and IS used the footage of one of the mock executions to make it look like they beheaded him on camera. Added shock value, it would also explain why they had to cut the footage. Every explanation doesn't have to be a fucking conspiracy. You really think with their infinite budget the government could not make a video look perfectly authentic?
